This examination is held once a year for recruitment of Investigators in National Semple Organisation (Field Operation Division), Ministry of Planning, all over the country.

Age limit

20 to 28 years on January 1 / August of the year of examination. Upper age limit relaxable for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and such other categories of persons as may from time to time be notified in this behalf by the Government of India to the extent and subject to the conditions notified in respect of each category.

Minimum Educational Qualification

ESSENTIAL: Degree with Mathematics or , Statistics or Economics as a subject from a recognised University or equivalent.

DESIRABLE:
(a) Ability to read and write and speak the State language;
(b) Knowledge of other regional languages;
(c) Capability to undertake strenuous out-door work.

Examination Fee Rs 50/-. No fee for SC/ST/Ex-S.

Plan of Examination

General Note about Examination Scheme Part I-Written Exam (500 Marks). Part II-Interview (100 Marks).Written Examination: It will consist of two papers.

1. Paper I (Objective type consisting of 200 questions)
Subjects - General Intelligence - 50 Marks
General Awareness - 50 Marks
General English & Comprehension - 100 Marks

2. Paper II (Conventional type wherein question will be set on subject shown against this paper of degree level standard)
Subjects - Mathematics - 200 Marks or
Economics 200 Marks or
Statistics 200 Marks

Other Information Regarding Plan of Examination: (The candidates will be required to answer question on an one of the subject)

NOTE: Paper-II (Conventional paper) will be evaluated in respect of only those Candidates who qualify in Paper-I (Objective type paper) at the standard which may be decided by the Commission at its discretion.

Interivews Test/ Personality Test Those who qualify the written test are called for interview.
