ENTRANCE EXAMINATION-2005

FOR ADNISSION TO BACHELOR OF ARTS & BACHELOR OF EDUCATION (V.I.) 4-YEARS INTEGRATED COURSE

National Institute for the Visually Handicapped (NIVH) is located in the famous Doon Valley, well known for itd healthy climate which is easily accessible by Rail and Road from all parts of the country. The Institute itself is situated at the posh Rajpur Road, about 5kms. from Railway station. It has a lush green sprawling campus spread over 40 acre of land thickly populated with fruit bearing and other trees providing a soothing and a calm environment so essential for studies.

Historically, the Institute owes its origin to the St. Dustan's Hostel for the War Blinded established in 1943. It has its activities and services in all parts of the country. It has been attracting scholars from foreign lands also.

The B.A. B.Ed. (V.I) 4 Years Integrated course provides two degrees-Bachelor in Arts & Bachelor in Education (V.I). It equips its scholars to serve as Special Teachers of the Visually Impaired (Blind and Low Vision) in various educational settings. It will enable the sucessful student-teachers to obtain jobs as teachers at Residential Schools for the Visually imparied, Resource Teachers and Itinerant Teachers under Integrated Education for Disabled Children (IEDC) as well as Special nd SSA are Central Government and Private Schools in every nook and corner of the country for the Disabled.

The National Institute under the aegis of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment invites applications for admission to the 2005-09 session of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education (Visual Impairment)-4 Years Integrated Course.

ELIGIBILITY OF ADMISSION:
1. Age:

• Minimum 17 years at the time of Entrance Test
• Upper age limit : 25 years

2. Nationality: Indian
3. Academic Qualifications: Senior Secondary/+2/PUC or equivalent examination from a recognized Board.
4. Examinaition Centre: Dehradun, Uttaranchal
5. Reservation:

Reservations for SC/ST/BC/Ex-Servicemen/ Dependants of Freedom Fighters/ NRI/ NRI Sponsored and physically Handicapped camdidates will be provided as per norms of H.N.B. Garhwal University, Srinagar, Uttaranchal.

Information Brochure-cum-Application Form can be obtained on payment of Rs.300/- for General Category and Rs.150/- for SC/ST/PH candidates in cash or by draft in favour of the Director, N.I.V.H. payable at Dehradun against receipt. Application meant for SC/ST/PH candidates, if used by General candidates will be rejected.
