Flinders University Scholarships 2010
One PhD scholarship is available to undertake full – time study in the School of the Environment as part of an ARC Linkage Project, “Investigation of Australian Crop Species for the Rhizoremediation of residual sulfonylurea herbicide contaminations in agricultural soils”.
The project will be undertaken in collaboration with a commercial agronomist and investigate the potential for commercial crop species to stimulate bacterial remediation of herbicide contaminated soils.
The successful candidate will be supervised by Associate Professor Richard Bentham, and Associate Professor Kathleen Soole.
Applicants should have completed at least four years of tertiary education studies at a high level of achievement and have an appropriate Honours 1 or 2A (or equivalent) undergraduate degree biotechnology, microbiology or related disciplines.
This scholarship will only be available to those who : are Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia or New Zealand citizens; and are enrolling as full – time students.
And will commence a PhD. The scholarship will provide an indexed, tax – free stipend ($26, 140 pa for full – time study) for up to three years, subject to satisfactory progress.
