CHINESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS

13 Chinese Government Scholarships tenable from September for higher studies/research/specialised training in the subject fields of Chinese Language. Literature, acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicines, Physics, Fisheries, Agronomy, Sericulture and Botany are offered to Indian nationals residing in India.

Eligibility: Age limit: Below 40 years on September. Relaxation for SC/ST etc. candidates is two years.

Qualifications: Chinese Language & Literature: Two or three years basic grounding in Chinese Language. (i.e. either a certificate or diploma from reputed/recognised institutions).

Fine Arts: Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts with 60% or above marks.

Acupuncture a traditional Chinese Medicines: Bachelor Degree in medicine (including Traditional Indian Medicines) with 60% or more marks and two years experience.

Other subjects: A post-graduate degree with 60% marks in aggregate or related subject along with 2 years teaching and or research in the related field. Prior knowledge of Chinese Language is not necessary where medium of instruction is English. However, selected candidates will have to undergo Chinese Language study prior to undertaking study in the areas of their choice, where medium of instruction is Chinese.

Value of Scholarships: For undergraduate students, 320 Yuans, for Master's degree and general advanced students, 350 Yuan for Doctoral candidates and senior advanced students, 380 Yuan. Govt. of China will provide board, lodging, medical care and bear expenditure on tuition and other fees etc. In addition Govt. of India is also giving grant to supplement the scholarship.

Cost of Passage: Govt. of India will bear the international passage cost from India to China and back.

Duration of Scholarship: Normally one year but extendable on year to year basis wherever necessary.
