1 or 2 scholarships are offered to undergraduate students from the Commonwealth countries for a period of one year.
Subjects: History subjects connected with the general history or constitutional, social or cultural development of the British Empire since 1815, or subjects connected with the present problems of the Commonwealth.
Eligibility: Graduates from a recognized
university with a good grade in History, or in a subject
considered relevant to the subject of proposed study by the
electors. Preference is given to students who seek to
prepare themselves for a career in the service of the
Commonwealth or in any Commonwealth
country. A student, if not a member of the University, must become one before the end of the term next after election.
Value: To be determined by the Electors, taking into consideration the amount of any other emolument received. The maximum value does not exceed the value of a British Academy postgraduate maintenance award.
