The following Irish Government fellowship awards are offered to Indian Nationals:
(1) Post-graduate degree in Hydrology (2 fellowships)
Qualification: First class Honors graduate either in Engineering or with suitable combination of science subjects including at least two years of University Mathematics.
Objectives: Training for personnel involved in water resources planning water supply, environmental monitoring and pollution control, flood forecasting and flood warning, and design of hydraulic structures.
(2) M.Sc (Agriculture) in Environmental Resource management (One fellowship)
Qualification: First class Bachelor's Degree in Science or other subject related to Agriculture Science.
Objectives: Training in the development and utilization of natural resources. It is concerned with the rural regional resource planning and environmental protection.
(3)M.C.S. Community Health (One fellowships).
Qualification: First class Bachelor's Degree in the related subject field.
Objectives: Suitable for Doctors, Administrators, Social workers and other health professionals.
(4)Diploma in Compensatory and Remedial Education (Two fellowships)
Qualification: First class B.Ed. degree with two years teaching experience as on 30 September.
Objectives: To equip the teacher with the necessary conceptual framework and the skill to identify learning difficulties and to plan effective programmes for pupils.
(5)MSc. Occupational Health and Ergonomics (One fellowship)
Qualification: Honors degree in Engineering Science or other relevant disciplines.
Objectives: To take on managerial responsibilities in areas of Occupational Health and hygiene within organizations or with a regulatory agency or consultancy firm Age: The candidate should be in the age group of 23 to 33 years as on September 30.
Duration: One Academic year except iii) where it is 1 1/2 years.
Date of commencement of the course: September/October.
Value Passage Cost: These scholarships provide for the cost of travel from India to Ireland and back. All University fees and a living allowance for the duration of stay in Ireland. In addition, smaller allowances for books, preparation of thesis, warm clothing etc. are provided, as per the Irish Govt. Fellowship rules. The following documents must be attached with the application:
One recent passport size photograph of the candidate must be affixed on the prescribed application form.
Attested copies of certificates certifying the date of birth of candidate.
Attested copies of all degrees/diplomas/certificates/marks sheets etc.
Sponsorship certificate from employer. However advance application complete in all respects along with other required documents will be considered provisionally pending sponsorship by employers.
Candidates must indicate, on plain paper, their plan for employment on completion of this fellowship.
Note: Preference is given to candidates who are working rather than those who are involved in ongoing academic research.
