Douglas Knoop Research Fellowships

Two fellowships are offered worldwide at one at the Master's and one at PhD level for three years.

Subject: Economics

Eligibility: Appropriate first degree required. If there are no suitable candidates for a fellowship, one or more studentships may be awarded. If funds permit one or more studentships and/or scholarships may be awarded, in addition to the fellowships held concurrently. The duration of a scholarship will ordinarily be two years.

Firth Scholarship: One scholarship are is offered worldwide for Research or other Postgraduate work approved by the Senate for one year in the first instance, renewable for one or two further years.

Subjects: Any in the Department of Eng. Materials (Ceramics, Glasses, Metals and Polymers.

Eligibility: Open to graduates of any university. As funds become available, one additional scholarship may be awarded for one year only, to a candidate reading for a higher degree by examination in the Department of Engineering Materials.

Value: £ 4,450 per annum, plus fees.

Postgraduate Research Scholarships: These scholarships are offered Master's by research, Ph D for two years for a Master's by research, renewable for up to a maximum of three years for Ph D.

Subject: Unrestricted.

Eligibility: Applicants must first be accepted, either conditionally or unconditionally by a Department of the University and then nominated for a scholarship by the Department. Overseas candidates must also apply for an ORS award.

Value: £ 4,910 maintenance and tuition fees.

University Research Fellowship: These fellowships are offered worldwide for research work for three years, subject to annual renewal.

Subject: Any subject in the Arts Faculty, Law, Social Sciences (except Economics, Economic History and Business Studies), Architecture (non-technical topics), Educational Studies.

Eligibility: Open to graduates of any university, who must carry out full-time original research at one of the above Faculties.

Value: Research Staff Scale, Range 1 B.
