AFIH - Post Graduate Certificate Course in Industrial Health

Applications are invited in the prescribed form for admission to 3 months full time Post Graduate Certificate Course in Industrial Health (AFIH) commencing from 1st April 2009 to 30th June, 2009 at National Model Centre for Occupational Health Services, BHEL, Tiruchirapalli-620014.

This course is primarily meant for doctors to equip them with knowledge in Occupational Health, which would enable them to prevent occupational and work related diseases in industry This three months course is compulsory for all doctors working in industries involving hazardous operations and processes as per the Factories Act, and also as per the Factories Rules of all States in India.

This course will also open up new frontiers for fresh and young doctors who are aspiring to become industrial medical officers in the near future.

Successful candidates will be awarded "Asociate Fellow of Industrial Health" (AFIH) which will fulfill the requirements in terms of additional qualification of Factory Medical Officers of Hazardous Process Industries as required under the Factories (Amendment) Act, 1987 anywhere in India. Eligibility for Admission: MBBS Degree from an Institution recognised by the Medical Council of India. Completion of Internship. Permanent Registration with the State Medical Council/Medical Council of India. Minimum one year experience in Industry/Occupational health related work or 2 years in general practice after completion of internship.
