Dharmsinh Desai University Admission Eligibility 2019

B.Tech.

• Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry are the required subjects for the B.Tech. courses.
• Those applying under NRI category must get AIU approval if their board is not one of the standard accepted boards of India.
• The minimum age requirement is 17 years of age.

B.D.S.

• Students must have a pass in their qualifying examination at the +2 level from any recognized board, having studied Chemistry, Physics and Biology as a minimum for the B.D.S. course. Marks obtained will be considered only for theory subjects.
• Those applying under NRI category must get AIU approval if their board is not one of the standard accepted boards of India.
• The minimum age requirement is 17 years of age.

M.Tech.

• For the M.Tech. programme, a minimum of 55%, with a 5% relaxation for reserved categories, is required in the relevant Engineering / Technology subject at the undergraduate level from a recognized university.

M.D.S.

• A B.D.S. degree from any Indian University that is recognized by the Dental Council of India, and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is required for the M.D.S. programme.

Ph.D.

Candidates must have fulfilled the following criteria to be deemed eligible by the university.

• Candidates must have passed their undergraduate degree from a relevant branch from any recognized university.
• Candidates must have passed a two year Master’s programme from a UGC or AICTE recognized institution, in a subject relevant to the Ph.D. applied for.
• A clear Research Purpose must be submitted alongside the application form, failing which the application will not be considered.
• Candidates cannot be registered as a Ph.D. or Post graduate student anywhere else during the course of the programme.

UG Programs

• The university may conduct an entrance examination to the B.D.S. course as well as the B.Tech. course, which includes subject matter taught at the +2 level. The merit list is released based on performance in this test as well as analysis of past academic performance. Cut off marks may be predetermined.

PG Programs

The selection process consists of a written test organised by the University in the month of March, alongside analysis of past academic performance.

• The test consists of 200 multiple choice questions that must be answered during a three hour time period. The syllabus includes all concepts covered at the undergraduate level, as stipulated by the central authority.
• A minimum of 50% is required in the entrance test to be considered for the merit list.

PhD Programs

• The selection process includes a written test organised by the university, as well as other components which will be dealt with through the application form.
• Written test is held in the month of July, which consists of a 150 mark paper that is divided into two sections, one of which is common to all, and the other which is subject specific. The total duration of the examination is three and a half hours, with a half an hour break given between sections.
• Analysis of past academic performance, research affinity and aptitude, and analysis of research abstract may also contribute to the final merit list.
