Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy Admission 2018

Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy invites applications for admission to BSMS / BAMS / BUMS / BHMS / BNYS Courses for 2018 in Government and Self financing Colleges in Tamil Nadu from the candidates passed in Higher Secondary Courses.

Age Limit

  • The candidates should complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the concerned year.

Educational Qualifications

  • Candidates should have passed in all the subjects of the qualifying examination of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination ( Academic ) conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board / any other equivalent Board in one and the same attempt in the following group of subjects with the minimum eligible marks.
  • A failure in examination, reappearance / first appearance , a pass in compartment in one or more subjects will treated as an attempt.
  • Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.(or) Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any other subject.

Language qualification for BSMS / BUMS Courses

  • For BSMS Course : In addition to the minimum eligibility marks.
  • The candidate should have studied in Tamil medium up to X Standard or Plus Two, or
  • The candidate should have studied Tamil as a subject up to X Standard, or Plus Two, or
  • The candidate must be prepared to pursue the study of Tamil Language as a subject during the First professional course of B.S.M.S. course, to become eligible to take the other subjects examination of the BSMS Course
  • For BUMS Course: In addition to the minimum eligibility marks,
  • The Candidate should have studied in URDU Medium upto X Standard or Plus Two, or
  • The candidate should have passed Urdu / Arabic / Persian as a subject up to X Standard or Plus Two, or
  • Should have passed the Adeeb-e-Fazil Examination or Entrance Examination of Afzal-Ul-Ulama Examination of the University of Madras to be eligible to apply for the BUMS course on the date of submission of application.

Minimum Eligibility Marks For FOR B.S.M.S. / B.A.M.S. / B.N.Y.S. / B.H.M.S.

  • Other Communities
    • A Minimum of 50% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
    • A minimum of 50% marks aggregate in Physics and Chemistry
  • Backward Communities / BC ( MUSLIM )
    • Minimum of 45% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
    • A minimum of 45% marks aggregate in Physics and Chemistry.
  • Most Backward Classes And Denotified Communities
    • Minimum of 40% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
    • Minimum of 40% marks aggregate  in Physics and Chemistry.
  • Scheduled Caste, Schedule Caste Arunthathiyar, Schedule Tribe
    • Minimum of 35% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
    • Minimum of 35% marks aggregate in Physics and Chemistry.
  • The candidates under Physically Challenged Category – ( Locomotory disability of Lower Limbs alone ). OC / BC / BCM / MBC / DC should have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in each prescribed subject in the qualifying examination.

Minimum Eligibility Marks for B.U.M.S. Course

  • Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary Course ( Academic ) with Science subjects ( Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany and Zoology ) or its equivalent examination.

  • The selection will be made on merit basis and by counseling applying rule of reservation as laid down by the Government of Tamil Nadu. BC/BCM/MBC/DNC/SC/SCA/ST candidates are eligible for selection under open competition as per merit in addition to the reservation made for them as per their communities.

Applications are invited for admission to 3 Years M.D.Siddha and M.D.Homeopathy for 2018 in the government Siddha Medical Colleges at Chennai and Palayamkottai from the candidates passed in Higher Secondary Course.

M.D.Siddha

  • A pass in B.I.M. / B.S.M.S. Degree course conducted by Madras University / Madurai Kamaraj University/ The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R.Medical University with successful completion of ( C.R.R.I ) Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship.
  • A pass in the examination considered equivalent thereof which has been recognised by Madras University / Madurai Kamaraj University / The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University and the Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi with an internship for a period of six months in the Hospital of Indian System of Medicine recognised by the Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi.
  • The candidates should have registered  their names either in the Tamil Nadu Board of Indian Medicine ( or ) in the Tamil Nadu Siddha Medical Council, Chennai – 106.

M.D.Homeopathy

  • Candidates should be citizens of India and should have undergone BHMS course in the state of Tamil Nadu.
  • Candidate should possess the Degree of Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery or equivalent qualification in Homoeopathy included in the Second Schedule to the Homoeopathy Central Council Act,1973 ( 59 of 1973 ).
  • Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery ( Graded Degree ) or equivalent qualification in Homoeopathy included in the Second Schedule to the Homoeopathy Central Council Act,1973 (59 of 1973 ).
  • Those candidates who are undergoing CRRI and will be completing their CRRI Before the Entrance Examination should enclose a certificate from Head of the Institution in which they are undergoing the CRRI that they will be completing the CRRI before the date of Entrance examination, failing which their application will be rejected.
  • The candidates should have registered their names either in the Central Council of Homoeopathy Medicine New Delhi ( or ) in the Tamil Nadu Homoeopathy Medical council, Chennai.
