Directorate of Medical Education Selection Committee Chennai invites application for admission to Diploma in Nursing Course 2018 session.

Directorate of Medical Education Admission 2018 Eligibility

  • The candidate should be a citizen of India.

Nativity

  • Candidate should be a Native of Tamil Nadu.
  • Candidates who have studied from 8th to 12th standards in schools in Tamil Nadu need not enclose the “ Nativity Certificate”.
  • Candidates who are native of TamilNadu but studied from 8th to 12th Std either partly or completely in schools situated outside Tamil Nadu should produce the “Nativity Certificate.’’
  • The Certificate of Nativity in Tamil Nadu should be issued by the competent authority only in the specified format available and supported by a copy of Passport/ Ration Card / Birth Certificate. If the copy of the supporting document is not produced, then the application form will be rejected. Nativity Certificate submitted later will be summarily rejected.
  • Applications without a proper Nativity Certificate will not be considered.
  • Permanent Residence Certificate will not be accepted.

Gender

  • Only female candidates are eligible to apply.
  • Third gender candidates who identify themselves as female candidates supported by the certificate issued by Tamilnadu are also eligible to apply.

Age Limit

  • Candidates must have completed 17 years of age and should not have completed 35 years as on 31st December, 2018.

Education Qualification :

  • Candidates should have passed in all the subjects of the qualifying Examination of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination ( Academic ) conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any other equivalent examination in the following group of subjects with minimum eligible marks.
    • Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. ( Or )
    • Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics with any other subjects.

Minimum Eligibility Marks

  • A Pass in + 2 with Physics / Chemistry / Biology / Botany / Zoology / Mathematics both in Theory and Practical in the above subjects.
  • A pass in English subject is mandatory for all categories.

Directorate of Medical Education Admission Eligibility

  • Candidate should be a citizen of India.

Nativity

  • Candidate should be a Native of Tamil Nadu.
  • Candidates who have studied 10 Std to 12th standard in schools and Studied Diploma in Pharmacy in Tamil Nadu need not enclose the “ Nativity Certificate”.
  • Candidates who are native of Tamil Nadu but studied 10 Std to 12th Std and studied in Diploma in Pharmacy either partly or completely in schools situated outside Tamil Nadu should produce the “Nativity Certificate”.
  • The Certificate of Nativity in Tamil Nadu should be issued by the competent authority only in the specified format available in the application form and supported by a copy of Passport/ Ration Card / Birth Certificate.If the copy of the supporting document is not produced, then the application form will be rejected. Nativity Certificate submitted later will be summarily rejected.
  • Applications without a proper Nativity Certificate will not be considered.
  • Permanent Residence Certificate will not be accepted.

Note

Nativity Certificate should be produced as per Instructions for Nativity Certificate. Producing false nativity certificate if detected at any time later during the course of study will result in expulsion of the candidate and also initiation of criminal proceedings against the candidate as well as the Parents as per law.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates should have passed in H.Sc. qualifying Examination conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any other equivalent examination.
  • Candidates should have passed Diploma in Pharmacy course.

Minimum Eligibility Marks

OC / BC / MBC / DNC Categories

  • Candidates should have aggregate of 40% marks in the first and second year DPharm Examination with a pass in H.S.C. ( Or )
  • Candidates belonging to all categories except SC / SCA / ST for admission to Lateral B.Pharm., course must have obtained individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology or Mathematics both in theory and practical with a minimum of 35% marks and with not less than 40% aggregate marks in the above subjects in the qualifying examination (Academic Stream) after a period of 12 years of study i.e., 10 + 2 pattern of education with a pass in D.Pharm. Course. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes /Scheduled Caste Arunthathiyar/ Scheduled Tribes must have obtained individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology (or) Mathematics both in Theory & Practical with a minimum of 35% marks in the above subjects with a pass in D. Pharm. Course.
  • Candidates who have passed Diploma in Pharmacy should have completed 500 / 750 hours of practical training on or before May and should have obtained the provisional certificate for having passed the Diploma Examination.
  • DPharm qualified candidates will be treated as Service candidates for selection under the seats reserved exclusively for service candidates :
    • a) Service candidates serving Tamilnadu Medical Service on a regular basis should have completed two years of service as on May.
    • b) D. Pharm. qualified candidates who are approved probationers serving in local bodies will be considered as service candidates and must have completed 2 years of service as on May.
    • c) Service candidates should send their application through the Head of the Medical College Hospital / Institution in which they are presently working.
    • d) Service candidates taking allotment in Self – financing colleges will not be paid salary and they have to avail leave to which they are eligible for the period of study on their own after obtaining prior permission from their Head of the Department concerned.
    • e) Candidates who are serving purely under temporary category in Tamilnadu Medical Service will be considered for selection under open quota as nonservice candidates only.

  • Send completed Directorate of Medical Education admission application form along with a DD for [rupee]350/- towards the cost of application form which is non refundable drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Selection Committee”, and payable at Chennai.
  • Note : SC / SCA and ST candidates who are natives of Tamil Nadu are exempted from payment of the cost of the Application Form.
  • Name of the Candidate and the name of the course should be written on the reverse of the Demand Draft.

Directorate of Medical Education Admission Selection Process

  • Out of the seats sanctioned for B Pharm ( Lateral entry ) course 50 % seats in each college are reserved for service candidates in addition to those service candidates selected under the open category. In case an odd number of seat remains in any college in the total seats sanctioned for that college, that seat shall be filled by merit and communal reservation.
  • Selection & Admissions will be made on merit basis for all categories of seats in B.Pharm ( Lateral Entry ) course, counselling according to choice of the candidates and availability of seats following the rule of reservation / Roster method followed by the Government of Tamil Nadu whichever is applicable. No change of college will be entertained after allotment.

  • Candidate should be a citizen of India.

Nativity

  • Candidate should be a Native of Tamil Nadu.
  • Candidates who have studied 11th Std to 12th standard in schools and Studied Diploma in Nursing course for a period of 3 or 3 ½ years in Tamil Nadu need not enclose the “ Nativity Certificate”.
  • Candidates who are native of TamilNadu but studied 11th Std to 12th Std and Diploma in Nursing course for a period of 3 or 3 ½ years either partly or completely in schools situated outside Tamil Nadu should produce the “Nativity Certificate”.
  • The Certificate of Nativity in Tamil Nadu should be issued by the competent authority only in the specified format available in the application form and supported by a copy of Passport / Ration Card / Birth Certificate.If the copy of the supporting document is not produced, then the application form will be rejected.   • Should have obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council.
  • They should have put in a minimum of two years of experience on or before May as a nurse in any Govt. Hospital / Institution or other Hospitals subsequent to completion of the course.
  • Service candidates should send their application through the head of the Medical College Hospital /Institution in which they are presently working.
  • Service candidates serving in Tamil Nadu Medical Service on a regular basis should have completed two years of service as on May.
  • Candidates who are serving purely under temporary category in Tamilnadu Medical Service will be considered for selection under open quota as non-service candidates only.
  • Service candidates taking allotment in Self-financing colleges will not be paid salary and they have to avail leave to which they are eligible for the period of study on their own after obtaining prior permission from their Head of the Department concerned.
  • One mark for each completed year of experience as on May which is calculated from the last date of the month of passing Diploma in Nursing Examination subject to a maximum of 10 marks shall be awarded as experience mark for both service and non-service candidates.
  • The admission to Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Course is open to both men and women in the ratio of 1: 9 ( 10% for men and 90% for women ).
