GITAM University Admission Eligibility Criteria 2013 :

BTech / BPharmacy Programs GAT ( UGTP ) 2013 :

Eligibility Criteria :

• Pass in Intermediate or 10 + 2 examination with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks ( 50% aggregate marks for BArch / BPharm ) in Mathematics or Biology, Physics & Chemistry and First Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination in single attempt from a recognized Central / State Board or its equivalent either in 2013 or 2012 and Rank obtained in GAT( UGTP ) – 2013.
• Note : Candidates seeking admission to B.Arch., program should qualify in NATA examination.

Details of BTech / BPharmacy GAT ( UGTP ) 2013 :

All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions), each question has four options out of which one is the correct answer. Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks. The unanswered questions will receive no marks.

MTech Program GAT ( PGT ) 2013 :

Eligibility Criteria :

• Pass in the Qualifying Examination as specified below with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade and Score obtained in GAT ( PGT ) 2013.

Details of Admission Test MTech GAT ( PGT ) – 2013 :

Note :

• All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions), each question has four options out of which one is the correct answer. Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks. The unanswered questions / incorrect answer will receive no marks.
• GATE qualified candidates will be exempted from appearing for GAT ( PGT ) 2013, but they need to apply to GITAM University for admission before the last date and the candidate has to attend counselling as per the schedule.

Eligibility Criteria :

• Pass in BPharmacy from recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade and Score obtained in GAT ( PGP ) 2013.

Details of Admission Test MPharmacy GAT (PGT) – 2013 :

Note :

• All questions are of objective type ( multiple choice questions ), each question has four options out of which one is the correct answer. Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks. 1 mark will be deducted from the score for each wrong answer. The unanswered questions will receive no marks.
• GPAT qualified candidates will be exempted from appearing for GAT ( PGP ) 2013, but they need to apply to GITAM University for admission before the last date and the candidate has to attend counselling as per the schedule.

• Last Date of Receipt of filled in GITAM University applications : 29th March 2013.
• Online Slot booking : 05th April, 2013 to 12th April, 2013.
• Download of E-Hall-Tickets : 05th April, 2013 onwards.
• Online Tests at different Centers : 17th April, 2013 to 8th May, 2013.

GITAM University offers the following Research programs for the year 2012 – 2013 :

• MPhil - Master of Philosophy ( Full-Time / Part-Time )
• PhD - Doctor of Philosophy ( Full-Time / Part-Time )

GITAM University Admission Eligibility 2013 :

Eligibility for Full – Time MPhil :

• Post – graduate degree holders of GITAM University or any recognized University with II class securing at least 55% of marks in the subject concerned or in an allied subject, can apply for fulltime MPhil degree, and their admission is based on the merit in the entrance test GURCET followed by personal interview Preference will be given to candidates with UGC / CSIR NET qualification subject to the fulfillment of the above condition.

Eligibility for Part – Time MPhil :

• Candidates satisfying the above eligibility conditions can apply for part-time MPhil program.
• Admission into part-time category will be made in the following order of priority with service seniority in each category.
  • Teachers working in PG departments of recognized universities and their affiliated colleges with one year of service.
  • Teachers working in degree colleges and professional colleges affiliated to recognized universities with at least two years of service.
  • Executives / Administrators / Engineers with at least three years of service in Government / Quasi Government / Judiciary / Public Sector organizations / Public and Private Limited companies and other organizations.
  • Teachers working in Junior colleges, Polytechnic colleges with at least three years of service.
  • Persons not covered in the above categories with at least four years of service after acquiring PG degree subject to approval by Board of Research Studies of GITAM University.

Eligibility for Full – Time PhD :

• Post-graduate degree holders of GITAM University or any other recognized university with a II class securing at least 55% of marks in the concerned subject or in an allied subject, can apply for full-time Ph.D. degree and their admission is based on the merit in the entrance test GURCET and personal interview.
• Preference will be given to candidates with MPhil degree wherever applicable followed by candidates with UGC / CSIR NET / GPAT qualification.
• Candidates possessing MPhil / ME / MTech / MCA / M.L. / LL.M. / MPharm. / M.D. / M.D.S. / M.S. degree at the time of admission are exempted from appearing for pre – PhD examination.

Eligibility for Part – Time PhD :

• Candidates satisfying the above eligibility conditions can apply for part-time. Admission into part-time category will be made in the following order of priority with service seniority in each category. M. Phil. degree holders wherever applicable will be given priority in each category followed by ME / MTech / MCA / MPharm / LL.M. / M.D. / M.S. / M.D.S. and UGC / CSIR NET qualification.
  • Teachers working in PG departments of other recognized universities and their affiliated colleges with two years of service.
  • Scientists working in research institutions recognized by GITAM University with a minimum of two years of service.
  • Teachers working in any Degree / Professional colleges affiliated to any recognized university with MPhil / equivalent degree or PG with a minimum of three years of service.
  • Executives / Administrators / Engineers with at least three years of service in Government / Quasi Government / Judiciary / Public Sector organizations / Public and Private Limited companies and other organizations.
  • Teachers working in Junior colleges, Polytechnic colleges with at least four years of service.
  • Any other employee not covered above with at least five years of service after acquiring PG degree.
