Institute of Chemical Technology invites application from eligible candidates for admission to the following Post Graduate Programs 2019

ICT Mumbai Admission Eligibility Criteria 2019

Master of Chemical Engineering & ME/M.Tech

  • Candidates applying to Master of Chemical Engineering program or any of the M.tech. programs offered at ICT must fulfill any of the following eligibility criteria:
  • B.Chem.Engg. or B.E. / B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering/ Biotechnology/ Biochemical Engg.
  • B.Chem. Engg./ B. Sc.(Tech.)/ B.Tech – in any branch of Chemical Technology/ Biotechnology/ B. Pharm. from ICT or any equivalent examination of IIT/NIT or any other University recognized by the UGC, with 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for the backward class candidate].
  • B.Tech. or B.Sc. in Textile Processing/ Textile Chemistry or  B.Text. (Textile Chemistry) or BE in Textile Chemistry or Textile Technology or B.Tech. in Textile Chemistry or Textile Technology or B.Tech. in Fibres and Textile processing Technology/ Fibre Technology with significant emphasis on chemical processing of textiles.
  • B.Tech. in Food Engineering and Technology or B.E./ B.Tech. in Food Engineering/ Food Technology/ Food Science/ Food Process Technology/ Food Process Engineering, or B.Sc. (Tech.) in Food Technology.
  • B.Sc. (Tech.) in Oils Technology or B. Tech. in Oils, Oleochemicals and Surfactants Technology.
  • B.Sc. (Tech.) in Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemicals or B. Tech.   in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology or equivalent B.Tech. with Pharmacy background only.
  • B.Tech. in Polymer Engineering and Technology /Surface Coating Technology or B.Sc. (Tech.) in Technology of Plastics/ Technology of Paints/ Rubber Technology or  B.E. in Polymer Engg. / Plastic Engg./ Petrochemical Engineering.
  • B.Sc. (Tech.) in Paints Technology / Plastics Technology or B.Tech. in Paints Technology / Polymer Engineering and Technology or B.Chem.Tech. in Paints Technology/ Polymer Engineering/ Polymer Technology/ Plastic Technology or B.E. in Paints Technology/ Polymer Engineering/ Polymer Technology/ Plastic Technology/ Plastic Engineering.

M.Tech. In Bioprocess Technology

  • Apart from the eligibility conditions mentioned for M.Tech. courses, candidates with B.Pharm. degree with 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.

M.Tech. in Food Biotechnology

  • Candidate must have passed B.Tech. degree in Food Engineering and Technology from either ICT or any other recognized university/institute.Or
  • Candidate must have a B. Tech. or B.Sc. ( Tech. ) or B.E. in Food Engineering and Technology / Food Engineering / Food Technology / Food Science/ Food Process Technology / Food Process Engineering/ Dairy Technology / Biotechnology/ Biochemical Engineering / Pharmaceutical Technology / Oil Technology from a UGC recognized university / institute.

M.Tech. in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology

  • Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or B.tech. degree in Pharmaecutical Technology or Biotechnology or Biochemical Engineering or Bachelors in Chemical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (55% marks for candidates in Backward Classes).

M.Tech. in Green Technology, M.Tech. in Perfumery and Flavor Technology

  • Candidate should have a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering or B.Sc. (Tech.) or B.Tech. in any branch of Chemical technology/biotechnology or B.Pharm. with 60% marks in aggregate (55% marks for candidates in Backward Classes).
  • Candidates with M.Sc. degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology or Biochemistry can also apply.

M.Pharm

  • The candidates applying for M.Pharma. must have a B.Pharma. degree with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA. The minimum marks required for candidates belonging to Backward Classes is 55%.

M.Sc. Chemistry

  • Candidate must have a B.Sc. degree with Chemistry as a major subject and Mathematics at H.S.C. level with at least 60% of the marks in aggregate or equivalent grade average.

M.Sc. Engineering Mathematics

  • Candidate should have passed B.Sc. with Mathematics as a major subject or B.Tech./B.E./B.Sc. (Statistics) with at least four Mathematics courses from a UGC/AICTE recognized university/ Institute. Candidate must have passed the qualifying examination with at least 55% of the marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (50% for the students from reserved category only from Maharashtra State) are eligible to apply. The candidates who have cleared the qualifying examination in one sitting will be preferred.

M.Sc. Physics (Material Science)

  • Candidate must have B.Sc. degree with Physics at the third year of the course of any University recognized by the UGC and must have passed the qualifying examination with at least 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for the backward class candidates) are eligible to apply. The candidates who have cleared the qualifying examination in one sitting will be preferred.

M.Sc. Textile Chemistry

  • The candidate should have passed B.Sc. degree with Chemistry from any University recognized by the UGC and passed the qualifying examination with at least 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA [50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for the backward class candidates] are only eligible to apply. The candidates who have cleared the qualifying examination in one sitting will be preferred.

ME ( Plastic Engineering )

  • The candidate applying for M.E. must have passed B.E. or B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/ Plastics Engineering / Polymer Engineering / Production Engineering /Chemical Engineering/ Chemical Plant Engineering or any post-HSSC four year degree course from IIT/NIT or any University/ Institute recognized by the UGC/ AICTE, with 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA. [55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for the backward class candidate]

Reservation

  • Reservation for SC/ST categories on All India basis is applicable to all the Masters’ courses (M.Chem.Engg., M.Pharm., M.Tech. (all branches), M.E.(Plastic Engg.)), M.Sc. in ICT Mumbai is as per the Government norms.
  • The candidates applying under the Backward Class Category will be required to submit the Caste Certificate at the time of admission, to attain the reservation. If the candidate fails to present the Caste Certificate he/she will be treated General Candidate

ICT Mumbai Admission Application From 2019

  • ICT Mumbai admission application form available at the official website www.ictmumbai.edu.in
  • The candidates seeking admission at ICT Mumbai must obtain the appropriate application form for the chosen course along with the handbook. The application form for full time and sponsored courses are separate.
  • The admission form and Handbook will be available for sale at the ICT counter from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. by cash payment expect on 2nd & 4th Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays.
  • The application forms can also be ordered by post or downloaded from the ICT Mumbai website www.ictmumbai.edu.in.
  • When ordering form by post the payment should include the amount equal to the “By Post” amount and be made only by a Pay Order/DD of any Nationalized/ Scheduled/ Private Sector Commercial Bank drawn in favour of ”INSTITUTE OF CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY, Mumbai”, payable at Mumbai, the payment is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.
  • Payment by cheque or money order will not be accepted.
  • Registered Post Parcel along with the Handbook will send the admission form requested by post.
  • The application form must be filled with relevant information.
  • Writing contact details such as permanent address, address for correspondence, Mobile No./ Telephone No./ and email address in the application form is important. Do not leave any field blank.
  • The completely filled forms should be submitted along with the attested photocopies of the documents.

ICT Mumbai Admission Selection Procedure 2019

  • For M.Pharma., the candidates will be selected on the basis of the merits in GPAT. For M.Tech., the candidates will be selected on the basis of their GATE score.
  • For M.Sc. courses, candidates will be selected on the basis of the written examination followed by an interview conducted by the respective department of the University.

Ph.D. ( Bioprocess Technology )

  • A Bachelor degree (12+4) in Engineering/ Technology/ Pharmacy or an equivalent.
  • A Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering/ Bioprocess Technology/ Chemical Technology from any branch at ICT/ Pharmacy/ M. Tech. Biotechnology/ Biochemical Engineering or any other UGC recognized university with at least 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA. For reserved categories the marks or an equivalent CGPA is relaxed to 55%.

Ph.D. ( Dyestuff Technology )

  • A Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering / Chemical Technology (any branch in ICT)/ Pharmacy/ Plastic Engineering of ICT/ Master’s in Engineering in Petrochemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
  • A Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering from ICT or any other UGC recognized university with at least 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA. For reserved categories the marks or an equivalent CGPA is relaxed to 55%

Ph.D. (Food Biotechnology)

  • A Bachelor’s degree ( 12, +4 ) in Food Engineering and Technology or Biotechnology / Food Biotechnology of any UGC recognized University with 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA ( 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA in case of reserved category ).
  • A Master’s degree in Food Engineering and Technology / Food Technology / Biotechnology/ Food Biotechnology/Food and Biochemical Engineering / Chemical Technology (any branch at ICT)/ Chemical Engineering of any UGC recognized University with 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA ( 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA in case of reserved category ).

Ph.D. ( Food Engineering and Technology )

  • Bachelor’s degree ( 12, +4 ) in Food Engineering and Technology or an equivalent.
  • Master’s degree in Food Engineering / Food Technology/ Food and Biochemical Engineering/ Chemical Technology ( any branch at ICT )/ Chemical Engineering of any UGC recognized University with 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA ( 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA in case of reserved category ).

Ph.D. ( Oleo chemicals and Surfactants Technology ) , Ph.D. ( Pharmaceutical Technology ) & Ph.D. ( Surface Coating Technology )

  • The candidates applying for Ph.D. in Green Technologymust have a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering / Chemical Technology ( any branch at ICT ) / Pharmacy / Plastic Engineering of ICT or any other UGC recognized university with at least 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA. For reserved categories the marks or an equivalent CGPA is relaxed to 55%.

Ph.D. (Civil Engineering) , Ph.D. (Electronics Engineering) & Ph.D. (Mechanical Engineering)

  • A Master’s Degree in Civil/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical/ Production/ Industrial/ Instrumentation Engineering from any UGC recognized University as equivalent thereto with 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA. For reserved categories the marks or an equivalent CGPA is relaxed to 55%.

Ph.D. (Biochemistry)

  • A Master’s Degree in any biological faculty of science of any university recognized by UGC with minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA. For reserved categories the marks or an equivalent CGPA is relaxed to 50%.

Ph.D. (Biotechnology)

  • A Master’s Degree in any biological faculty of science of any university recognized by UGC with minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA. For reserved categories the marks or an equivalent CGPA is relaxed to 50%.

Ph.D. (Chemistry)

  • A Master’s Degree in Chemistry from any University recognized by UGC with minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA. For reserved categories the marks or an equivalent CGPA is relaxed to 50%.

Ph.D. (Food Science and Nutrition)

  • A Master’s Degree in Food Science, Food Processing, Nutrition, Home Science, Post harvest Technology, Horticulture, Dairy Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Organic Chemistry of any UGC recognized University with 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA (55% marks or an equivalent CGPA in case of reserved category).

Ph.D. (Mathematics)

  • A Master’s Degree in Mathematics of any University recognized by UGC with minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA. For reserved categories the marks or an equivalent CGPA is relaxed to 50%.

Ph.D. (Physics)

  • A Master’s Degree in Physics of any University recognized by UGC with minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA. For reserved categories the marks or an equivalent CGPA is relaxed to 50%.

Ph.D. (Textile Chemistry)

  • The candidates applying for Ph.D. in Textile Chemistrymust have a Master’s Degree in Textile Chemistry/ Textile Clothing/ Life Sciences/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Chemistry of ICT or of any University recognized by UGC with minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA. For reserved categories the marks or an equivalent CGPA is relaxed to 50%.

ICT Mumbai Admission Application From 2019

  • ICT Mumbai admission application form available at the official website www.ictmumbai.edu.in
  • Candidates desirous of taking admission in ICT in Ph.D. Programme are required to follow the following steps to apply for the same:
  • The candidates are required to purchase and fill the form with accurate details.
  • The candidates will have to fill separate forms for different course choices. [Ph.D. (Tech.) and Ph.D. (Sci.) separate for each specialization].
  • The application forms will be sold along with a Handbook. The application form and Handbook will be made available for sale at ICT counter, the counter will be closed on the Sundays and 2nd & 4th Saturday and Public Holidays.
  • The payment for the forms is to be made via cash.

The candidates also have the option to download or order the forms by post.

  • The application form can be downloaded by clicking here.
  • If the candidate is ordering the forms via post the payment is to be made only by Pay Order/DD of any Nationalized/ Scheduled/ Private Sector Commercial Bank drawn in favor of ”Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai”, payable at Mumbai. It is non-refundable and non-transferable payment under any circumstances.
  • Payments made via cheque or money order are unacceptable.
  • The application form will be sent by the Registered Post Parcel on the address the candidate had provided along with a Handbook
  • The application forms must be filled in with true and accurate information.
  • Incomplete forms sent will be rejected and there will be no correspondence made.
  • The forms are to be submitted along with the attested photocopies of the certificates required by the last date.
  • The candidates are required to get the photocopies of the certificates which are to be submitted by the Principal of the College or Gazetted Officer or Special Executive Magistrate or Head Master of a Secondary School or teaching staff of a Government /Govt. Aided College / Polytechnic not below the rank of a Lecturer.
  • The completely filled application forms are to be summited at ICT counter or sent to the ICT by Post or Courier along with a Pay Order or Demand Draft of any Nationalized/ Scheduled/ Private Sector Commercial Bank drawn in favor of ”Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai”, payable at Mumbai.
  • The candidates will be returned a tear-off receipt, which is at the bottom of the application form. While accepting the application form the clerk will sign and stamp the receipt and return it. The number on the form is be used for any further correspondence.
  • Application forms received after the last date of submission will not be accepted.
  • The candidates applying from SC/ST Categories are required to submit the photocopy of the Caste certificate or Tribe Validity Certificate. The candidates failing to do so will be treated as all the other students of General Category.
