KVAFSU Admission Eligibility 2019
Bachelor of Veterinary Science [ BVSc ] & A.H.
- Candidates should have a passed with a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks for general category and 40% marks for SC / ST category and Cat – I in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English of the second year PUC of Karnataka Pre-University Board or its equivalent examination.
- Candidates should have appeared for common entrance test ( CET ) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority, Govt. of Karnataka, Bangalore.
Bachelor of Fisheries Science [ BFSc ]
- Candidates should have passed second year PUC of Karnataka Pre-University Board or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics as elective subjects.
Bachelor of Technology [ B.Tech ] ( Dairy Technology )
- Candidates should have passed second year PUC of Karnataka Pre-University Board or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics as elective subjects.
KVAFSU Admission Seats 2019
- The reservation criteria is based on the policy of Government of Karnataka governing admission to higher educational institutions.
- General Category: 76.2%
- Agriculturalists or children of Agriculturalists: 23.8%
- The seats under this quota will be filled up by conducting practical test as determined and specified in the prospectus from time to time.
- Special Categories ( NCC, Sports, Scouts and Guides, Children of Defence Personnel, Children of Ex-servicemen, Candidates with Physical Disability ( PD ), Candidates from Anglo-Indian Community ) : 12%

How to apply
- Karnataka Veterinary Animal and Fisheries Sciences University admission application form is available in the official website www.kvafsu.edu.in.
- Fill in the applications with the necessary information. Candidates form should be complete in all respects.
- If Candidates are claiming seat under Agriculturist quota, Candidates should also enclose photocopies of the relevant Certificates.
- Attach a DD and necessary enclosures for admission are to be submitted to the Registrar, KVAFSU, Nandinagar, BIDAR-585 401.
KVAFSU Selection Process 2019
Bachelor of Veterinary Science [ BVSc ] & A.H.
For B.V.Sc. & AH Programme : Candidates will be selected if Candidates obtain a minimum of 50% of the marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology in the Common Entrance Test ( CET ) conducted by Govt. of Karnataka. The merit list is based on this result and prepared as per “Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education Regulations 2008” prescribed by Veterinary Council of India.
Common Entrance Test
- Questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 60 questions of one mark each from each subject having total 180 questions with maximum marks of 180. The duration for solving paper of each subject will be 1 hour 20 minutes. There is no negative marking.
For applying under Agriculture Quota
- The University conducts a practical test ( PT ) for 200 marks. The merit list shall be prepared for allotment of seats by taking into account the marks. Candidates should obtain 50% of the marks secured in Physics, Chemistry and Biology of common entrance test conducted by Govt. of Karnataka and 50% of the marks secured in practical test ( PT ) conducted by the University.
- Practical Test : Candidates will be required to identify the specimen and carry out field operations related to Veterinary, Dairy and Fisheries and allied sciences including agriculture subjects.
Bachelor of Technology [ B.Tech ] ( Dairy Technology ) & Bachelor of Fisheries Science [ BFSc ]
For B.Tech (D.Tech) Programme & B.F.Sc. Programme : Candidates will be selected on the basis of marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Biology in 2nd year Pre-University examination of Karnataka or its equivalent.
For applying under Agriculture Quota
- The University conducts a practical test ( PT ) for 200 marks.
- The merit list shall be prepared for allotment of seats by taking into account the marks. Candidates should obtain 50% of the marks secured in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology in 2nd year PUC or its equivalent and 50% of the marks secured in practical test ( PT ) conducted by the University
- Practical Test : Candidates will be required to identify the specimen and carry out field operations related to Veterinary, Dairy and Fisheries and allied sciences including agriculture subjects.
Note
If Candidates are from States other than Karnataka, Candidates are not eligible to seek admission directly for all Undergraduate Degree Programmes in the University. However, Candidates can apply through the Veterinary Council of India / Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. Candidates will have to submit a separate application as and when called by VCI / ICAR New Delhi and take All India Competitive Examinations and attend Counselling at New Delhi for seat allotment.

KVAFSU Admission Eligibility 2019
MVSc & ME / M.Tech
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor degree in the respective subject from a recognized University / institute on or before the due date mentioned.
- Candidates should have 6.00 / 10 or equivalent OGPA / equivalent percentage of marks for general category and 5.50 / 10 or equivalent OGPA / equivalent percentage of marks for SC / ST / Cat-I candidates at bachelor degree level.
- Nationality : Candidates should be a citizen of India and must have studied in any educational institution in Karnataka State for a period of seven academic years at any time up to the Bachelor degree as on 1st July of the admission year. [ Not applicable if Candidates are a Govt. of Karnataka, Govt. of India, ICAR nominees, NRIs and Foreign Nationals ( FN ) ]. However, if vacancies are left in a particular subject then the domicile requirement of 7 years could be relaxed to outside Sate candidates.
KVAFSU Admission Seats 2019
- The seats shall be reserved in accordance with the existing reservation policy of Govt. of Karnataka.
- Provision is also made for admission on payment of institutional economic fees for Foreign National / Children of NRI.
- One seat in each department for Master’s degree notified above is reserved for candidates sponsored by GOK, GOI, State Veterinary / Agricultural Universities.

How to apply
- Karnataka Veterinary Animal and Fisheries Sciences University admission application form is available in the official website www.kvafsu.edu.in.
- Fill in the form with the necessary details. Application Fee of ₹600 for general category applicants and ₹300 for SC / ST / Cat -1 applicants in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Comptroller, KVAFSU, Bidar has to be paid along with the application.

KVAFSU Selection Process 2019
- Candidate’s selection will be done on the basis of Candidate’s performance in bachelor degree programme and written test conducted by the University.
- Written Test : It will be of undergraduate level and will contain 100 objective type questions with four responses. Candidates will be given due weightage if Candidates have won medals in academics, sports and cultural activities, passed in ICAR / JRF examinations and if are Physically handicapped / Anglo-Indians / Scouts & Guides / Children of Ex-Servicemen / Defense personnel.
- The scheme of evaluation is as follows. Candidates should be able to secure at least 50% of the total marks
- Weightage in aggregate in Bachelor’s degree – 50 Marks
- Written test – 40 Marks
- ICAR / JRF exam qualified candidates – 02 Marks
- Distinction – Univ. Medals / Sports and Cultural activities – 05 Marks
- Physically handicapped / Anglo-Indians / Scouts & Guides / Children of Ex-Servicemen / Defence personnel – 03 Marks
