MNIT Admission Eligibility 2019

B.Tech, B.Arch

  • At least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.

M.Plan

  • B.Arch, B.Plan, Bachelor in Town Planning, Bachelor in Transportation Planning, Bachelor in Urban Planning, Bachelor in Town & Country Planning, BE/ B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology

MTech

  • BE/B.Tech or M.Sc. in relevant specializations with 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% for OC/OB candidates from recognized university

MBA

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, Architecture, Pharmacy, Agricultural or Computer Applications or Master degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Economics while scoring minimum CGPA of 6.5 on the 10 point scale (60% marks, only where CGPA is not awarded) with a relaxation for SC/ST implying minimum of 6.0 on the 10 point scale (55% marks, only where CGPA is not awarded).

MSc

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science with atleast 55% marks in aggregate

PhD

Architecture and Planning

  • Master’s degree in Architecture/Planning/Technology in relevant discipline.

Chemical Engineering

  • B.Tech./M.Tech. or equivalent degree in Chemical Engineering, B. Tech./ M.Tech. or equivalent degree in any branch of Engineering/Chemical Technology and interdisciplinary areas.

Chemistry

  • M.Sc. in Chemistry/ Medicinal/ Pharmaceutical/ Environmental/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology and related disciplines with chemistry as one of the optional subject

Civil Engineering

  • ME/ M.Tech degree in relevant area of specializations

Computer Science & Engineering

  • B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engg./ Computer Engg./ Information Technology/ Communication and Computer Engg./ Electronics and Communication Engg. and M.E./M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engg./ Computer Engg./ Software Engg./ Information Technology/ Information Security/ VLSI

Electrical Engineering

  • ME/ M.Tech degree in relevant area of specializations

Electronics & Communication Engineering

  • B. Tech. and M. Tech. degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ Computer/ Communication/ Telecommunication/ Instrumentation/ Control/ Microelectronics or equivalent discipline consistent with research areas of department

Humanities and Social Science

  • MA or M.Com or equivalent with 6.5 CGPA out of 10 or minimum 60% marks OR M.Sc. with 6.5 CGPA out of 10 or minimum 60% marks may be considered for research areas consistent with the academic background and special interest

Mathematics

  • MA/ M.Sc. in Mathematics/Computer Science/Statistics

Mechanical Engineering

  • B.Tech./M.Tech. Degree or equivalent degree in Mechanical/Industrial/ Production Engg. OR B.Tech./M.Tech. Degree/ disciplines consistent with the research areas of the department.

Metallurgical & Materials Engineering

  • BE / B.Tech degree in Metallurgical/ Materials / Mechanical /Chemical/ Ceramic Engineering/ Manufacturing / Production Engineering and M.E. / M.Tech degree in Metallurgical/ Materials / Ceramic Engineering/ Thermal Engineering or equivalent

Physics

  • M.Sc. in Physics/ Applied Physics/ Engineering Physics/ allied areas of Physics/Interdisciplinary areain physical science and technology.

Center for Energy and Environment

  • B.Tech, B.Arch and M.Tech in relevant disciplines

National Center for Disaster Mitigation and Management

  • Must have graduate degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture and Must have post graduate degree in Structural engineering/Earthquake Engineering or any other branch of civil/architectural Engineering

Management

  • Two year PG Degree in Management/Commerce/Economics/Technology/Engineering with atleast 6.5 out of ten CGPA

Materials Research Center

  • Masters’ degree in Engineering/Science/Technology subject with atleast 60% marks or CGPA of 6.5 of of 10.

  • Candidates need to visit the college website in order to fill the application form online.
  • To apply for the MBA program, the candidates are strongly advised to read the instructions given in the Information Brochure very carefully before filling up the Application Form.
  • Fill up the form carefully and pay the application fees via online mode.
  • Application Fees: [rupee] 1000 for Open / OBC category and [rupee] 500 for SC/ST/PH category.

  • MNIT Admission Selection Process is based on CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT followed by GD/PI.

MSc

  • MNIT Admission Selection Process is based on IIT JAM

PhD

  • MNIT Admission Selection Process is based on  Written Test, Viva- Voce and marks in the qualifying examination
