National Institute of Homoeopathy invites admission application for 5 1/2 Years Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery ( BHMS ) Program for academic sessions 2013 – 2014.

NIH Kolkata Admission Eligibility Criteria 2013 :

  • Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary ( 10 + 2 ) or its equivalent examination with five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English are eligible to apply. She / He should have passed all the five subjects individually and obtained 50% marks in aggregate ( 45% marks for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates ). For the candidates who have appeared for Higher Secondary ( 10 + 2 ) or its equivalent examination, candidature will be taken into consideration provided that the result of that examination is published before the admission and they have secured the required percentage of marks which has to be substantiated by production of documentary proof.
  • Age : To be eligible for the all India common admission test, the candidate should attain 17 years but not crossed the age of 25 years as on by 31st December, 2013.Those born on or before 31st December, 1988 or after 1st January,1997 are not eligible.

NIH Kolkata Admission Selection Process 2013 :

  • In this academic year 93(Ninety three) seats shall be available for admission to the BHMS Degree Course, out of this following seats are reserved for different categories of candidates.
  1. Fourteen ( 14 ) seats are for the candidates nominated from the following States / Union Territories :
    Jammu and Kashmir (1)Manipur (1)Meghalaya (1)
    Mizoram (2)Nagaland (1)Sikkim (1)
    Tripura (2)Andaman and Nicobar Island (1)Dadra and Nagar Haveli (1)
    Daman and Diu (1)Lakshadweep (1)Puducherry (1)
  2. Six (06) seats are reserved for Foreign Nationals of which Five ( 05 ) seats are for candidates from Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi Sectoral Technical & Economic Co – operation ( BIMSTEC ) countries nominated by Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, Azad Bhavan, Indraprastha Estate, New Delhi and One ( 01 ) seat is reserved for Foreign National candidates under self – financing scheme nominated by the Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India.
  3. Ten ( 10 ) seats are reserved for candidates sponsored by Govt. of Sri Lanka through the Dept. of AYUSH, Govt.of India. ( If the scheduled number of candidates are not sponsored by Govt. of Sri Lanka, those seats shall remain vacant; no other candidate will be admitted against these seats ).
  4. Two ( 02 ) seats are reserved for candidates from Malaysia as per directive of Govt.of India.
  5. The remaining seats will be filled up through All – India NIH Kolkata Admission Test of three hours duration. The pattern of questions will be of multiple choice type, total number of questions will be 200 – Physics ( 60 questions ), Chemistry ( 60 questions ), Biology ( 60 questions ) and General Knowledge ( 20 questions ). There will be Negative marking for wrong answers.
  6. Reservation including to those belonging to Orthopaedically Challenged ( locomotor disability involving the lower limb ) / OBC category will be made as per extant reservation instructions. The candidates who are desirous of availing such reservation facilities under OBC quota are required to enclose attested copy of their OBC certificate issued by appropriate authority along with a declaration that she / he does not belong to creamy layer of the society ( for the format see the Institute website and the attested copy must be as prescribed ).

NIH Kolkata Admission Application Form 2013 :

  • Admit Card and Prospectus will be sent by post and list of candidates with their Roll numbers and Centres will also be available in the NIH Website : www.nih.nic.in.
  • Send Completed NIH Kolkata admission application along with a DD for Rupee 500/- in favour of “Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy”, payable at Kolkata.
  • Filled NIH Kolkata admission application post by sent to the following address :

Important Dates for NIH Kolkata Admission 2013 :

  • Last date of submission of NIH Kolkata admission application on : 10th May, 2013.
  • Date of All India Admission Test : 9th June, 2013.
  • Date of publication of the result of NIH Kolkata admission Test : 18th June, 2013.
  • Date of Counselling : 8th July, 2013 to 9th July, 2013.

  • Dear Sir, What is the fate after passing of B.H.M.S course !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......... we are seen that there is no scope for homoeopathy in India as well as West Bengal except private practice.... Sir could we do practice well after passing of this course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Medical Officer recruitment under any govt is not regular for homoeopathy.. we will get only frustation after passing of this course.... Sir can you tell us why should we go for 'HOMOEOPATHY'!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some respectable doctors are practicing well, as their tradition wise.... some got renound after spent so much time.... But this time is v.v hard to lead a normal life....
