NIOH Master Degree Admission 2016

National Institute for the Orthopaedically Handicapped Kolkata invites applications for admission to the following PG Courses through Admission Test for the academic year 2016 – 2017.

  • Master of Physiotherapy (M.P.T.)
  • Master of Occupational Therapy (M.O.T.) Courses
  • Master of Science [Prosthetics and Orthotics] / M.Sc (P.O.) 

Admission Test conducted by West Bengal University of Health Sciences, Kolkata.

NIOH PG Eligibility Criteria

The minimum qualification for admission :

i) MPT Course – Pass in a full time regular Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT)/ Bachelor of Science (PT) course from any recognized university and Bachelor of Physiotherapy Condensed course from any institution affiliated to West Bengal University of Health Sciences with completion of all requirements of the Degree course including completion of internship.

ii) MOT Course – Pass in a full time regular Bachelor of Occupational Therapy/ Bachelor of Science (OT) course from any recognized University with completion of all requirements of the Degree course including completion of internship .

iii) M.Sc. (P.O.) Course – Pass in a full time, regular Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics (B.P.O.)/ Bachelor of Science (P & O) course form any recognized University with completion of all requirements of the Degree course including completion of internship.

NIOH PG Exam Pattern

The NIOH PG question papers for the admission test shall be set in English and shall contain 80 single best response type “Multiple Choice Questions‟ of Bachelor or Physiotherapy (B.P.T)/Bachelor of Science (B.P.O)/Bachelor of Science (O.T.) standard ( as the case may be).

The duration of the admission test will be 65 minutes.

The first 30 questions in Booklet NO. 1 will be of specific for the categories for which the application has been made. The rest 50 questions will be on general basic sciences, which will be answered in Booklet NO. 2.

A candidate will be awarded one (1) mark for each correct answer.

Multiple answers will be treated as wrong answer.

There will be no negative marks awarded for wrong answers and for questions not attempted.

General candidates will have to secure a minimum of 32 (40%) marks in the admission test to qualify for selection. Physically Challenged (General category) has to obtain 29 marks to compete OBC, OBC-A and OBC-B has to secure 29 marks.

For SC/ST Candidates, the qualifying marks will be 24 (30%) marks. Physically Challenged (S.C/ST and OBC) candidate has to obtain 24 marks to compete.

NIOH PG Application Form 2016

A candidate seeking admission through WBPGPASAT is required to submit her application online by logging in www.wbuhsexams.in. NIOH PG Application submitted by all other means will be summarily rejected.

A Print-copy of the application along with a crossed Demand Draft of [rupee] 3000/-(Three Thousand rupees) in favour of “The West Bengal University of Health Sciences” payable at Kolkata, photographs embossed with current date and photocopy of photo identity card (DPIC/Voter ID/Driving License/Passport/PAN/Adhar/ any other valid Photo Identity Card) is to submitted either by hand on or before 30th June, 2016 and by speed/registered post on or before 04th July, 2016 (provided the bank draft is made in favour of The West Bengal University of Health Sciences on or before 30th June, 2016) addressed to the Office of the following address :

In other words the applications must reach office of the WBUHS within the last date as mentioned in the schedule. Candidate is requested to write their name and mobile number on the back of the draft.

Submission of print-copy of forms at W.B.University of Health Sciences (except Saturday, Sunday and Holidays) between 20th June, 2016 – 01st July, 2016 (11.30 a.m. To 4.00 p.m.)
Pay Order/ Demand Draft in favour of The West Bengal University of Health Sciences payable at Kolkata must be purchased on or before 30th June, 2016. Print Copies of form along with the Demand Draft/Pay Order will not be received after 01st July, 2016. Registered Post will be received upto 04th July, 2016, however the Demand Draft/Pay Order must be purchased on or before 30th June, 2016
Admit card will be downloaded from thewebsite by putting Acknowledgement number/cell number From 13th July, 2016 evening (6 p.m onwards)
Date of Admission Test Sunday 17th July, 2016
Declaration of result On or before 02nd August, 2016
