The essential requirements for admission to part-time research scholar category are given below :

Admission Criterion

  • The people working in National research laboratories / R&D organizations having Research MOU with NIT Jamshedpur
  • The people working in PSU’s / Industries having ongoing Research MOU with NIT Jamshedpur
  • The Institute Faculty at NIT Jamshedpur on regular or contract basis. If a candidate is registered this category but not continue as a faculty of the Institute, he / she may be considered as full-time research scholar if he / she fulfils the qualifications and eligibility criteria or he / she may be continue as part-time scholar without any fellowship ( financial support ) from the Institute

Academic Qualifications

Bachelors / Masters Degree in Engineering / Technology or in the appropriate discipline with a minimum 6.5 CGPA or 65% marks from a recognized Institute or University ( Minimum 5.5 CGPA or 55% marks for SC / ST candidates ) OR

Master’s Degree in Sciences / Humanities / Social Sciences / Management / Computer applications or in the appropriate discipline with a minimum 6.5 CGPA or 65% marks from a recognized Institute or University ( Minimum 5.5 CGPA or 55% marks for SC / ST candidates )

  • The filled-in NIT Jamshedpur applications along with the necessary documents and a crossed Demand Draft for Rupee 1,000/- ( Rupee 500/- in the case of SC / ST candidates ) towards Registration fee, drawn in favour of the Director, National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, payable at SBI RIT Branch (Code 1882), NIT Jamshedpur and should reach to the following address on or before 06th June, 2016 ( Monday ).
