Any Student who is undergoing a UG or PG Course of study in a College at present can also enroll additionally and simultaneously in any other UG & PG Courses offered to the conditions of Periyar University eligibility.

Periyar University Admission Application Form 2012 :

• Periyar University Application Form and Prospectus can obtained in person from the following address on payment of 300/- for the Courses MBA, MCA & MSc ( IT ) and 100/- for the all other courses by DD :

• To get the Periyar University Application Form and Prospectus by post, an additional amount of 50/- is to be paid towards postal charges.
• Periyar University admission applications and prospectus can be obtained from the office of the Registrar from 24th April, 2012 onwards
• The DD should be taken in favour of “The Director, PRIDE” payable at Salem. There is also a provision to download the Periyar University Application Form from Periyar University website www.periyaruniversity.ac.in or www.pu-pride.org.
• The Cost of the downloaded Periyar University Application Form has to be paid along with Periyar University Admission Fee at the time of submission of filled in Periyar University Application.
• Spot admission is made at PRIDE and various approved Study Centers.

Periyar University invites applications from eligible candidates for admission to Full – time / Part – time Ph.D program being offered in University Departments of Periyar University and Full – time / Part – time M.Phill and Ph.D.Programs being offered in the affiliated Colleges / Research Institutions of Periyar University during the Academic Year 2011 – 2012.

Periyar University Application Form 2011 :

2. Periyar University Application Cost 2011 :
   1. 300/- ( 150/- for SC / ST / PH ) for M.Phil Program.
   2. 300/- ( 150/- for SC / ST / PH ) for Ph.D. Program.
3. Respectively in form of Demand Draft in any nationalized banks in favour of “The Registrar, Periyar University, Salem” payable at Salem. Other modes of payment are strictly not allowed.
4. A self – addressed envelope for 40/- of size 28 x 13 cms has to be enclosed to get Periyar University Application by post. Separate request has to be made for each Program.
5. The envelope requesting Periyar University Application Form may be superscribed “Request for Application Form for M.Phil / Ph.D Admission”.
6. Candidates appearing for final semester / year examination can also apply provided they satisfying the eligibility conditions for admission at the time of joining. The SC / ST candidates have to produce attested copy of PG degree Certificate ( or )  Provisional Certificate ( or ) PG all semester mark statement and Community Certificate along with the demand draft.
7. Ph.D application can be obtained and submitted throughout the year for both full – time and part – time program.
8. Registration is available four times in a year – January, April, July, October.
9. Last date for issue of Periyar University Application and for submission of filled in application is 16 August, 2011.

Periyar University Applications are invited for admission to the following programs under Choice Based Credit System ( CBCS ) during 2011 – 2012 in the University Departments.

I. Periyar University PG Programs

1. M.A. – Tamil, Economics, English, Journalism and Mass Comunication, Sociology, M.Com and M.Com ( C.A )
2. M.Sc – Applied Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science and Nutrition, Applied Psychology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Botany, Environment Science
3. M.Sc – Five Year Intergrated Courses. Applied Geology, Visual Communication.
4. M.B.A. ( Executive )
5. M.C.A. ( also self supportive )
6. M.Ed. ( Master of Education )

Periyar Institute PG Programs Eligibility 2011 :

Periyar College MEd Eligibility :

• UG / PG Degree with B.A. Education / B.Sc. Education / BEd Degree.

Eligibility for M.L.I.S. ( Master of Library and Information Science ) :

• Any UG Degree.

MA MSC Mcom MEd MLIS Selection Procedure 2011 :

• For M.A., M.Sc, M.Com., M.Ed., M.L.I.S., selection will be based on the entrance examination to be held during First Week June 20 in the University campus.
• Candidates appearing for final semester /examinations can also apply provided they satisfy the eligibility conditions for Periyar Institute admission at the time of joining. Sport quota will be enterained as per TamilNadu Government, norms.

University of Periyar M.Sc. Applied Geology Admission Procedure 2011 :

MSc Applied Geology Eligibility 2011 :

• A pass in Higher Secondary Examinations ( Academic Stream ) conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu or any examination as equivalent to 10+2 course including CBSE, which have been recognised by the Periyar University.
• The Candidates for Periyar College admission to integrated course shall have passed the Plus two Examinations with Physics and Chemistry as two compulsory subjects.

Selection Procedure for MSc Applied Geology Course 2011 :

• Based on Higher Secondary marks and if necessary University of Periyar entrance test will be conducted.

Periyar Institute M.Sc. Visual Communication Admission Procedure 2011 :

MSc Visual Communication Eligibility 2011 :

• 10+2 conducted by Government, fo Tamil Nadu ( Academic or Vocational Stream ).

Selection Procedure for MSc Visual Communication Course 2011 :

• Based on Higher Secondary marks and if necessary Periyar Institute MSc Visual Communication entrance test will be conducted.

Periyar University MBA  Admission Procedure 2011 :

MBA Program Eligibility 2011 :

• Any degree with 50% of marks and appearance in TANCET – 2011 / MAT 2011.

Selection Process for MBA Course 2011 :

• Through TANCET – 2011 / MAT 2011 scores, University of Periyar MBA Program group discussion and personal interview.

For M.B.A. ( Executive ) :

MBA Executive Course Eligibility 2011 :

• Any Degree and working experience of minimum 2 years Industrial / Academic.

Periyar University MCA Admission Procedure 2011 :

MCA Course Eligibiltiy 2011 :

• A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in 10+2+3 / 4 years pattern in any discipline with +2 level Mathematics ( or ) any recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in 10+2+3 years pattern in any discipline with Mathematics or Statics as any one of the subjects. MCA is also available as self supportive program.

Selection Procedure for MCA Program 2011 :

• Through TANCET 2011 score only.

II. Periyar Institute M.Phil Programs 2011 :

• M.Phil – Full Time Applied Geology, Commerce, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Tamil, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Food Science and Nutrition, Management Studies, Education, English, Biotechnology, Journalism and Mass Communication, Microbiology, Psychology, Sociology.

III. University of Periyar Certificate Courses 2011 :

• Communication Excellence
• Counselling Psychology
• NGO Management for Social Development
• Television Journalism

Periyar University application form and prospectus for the above courses can be obtained from The Registrar, Periyar University, Salem.

Application Cost for Periyar University 2011 :

1. 300/- ( 150/ – for SC / ST / DA* ) for all PG Courses.
2. 300/- ( 150/- for SC / ST / DA* ) for M.Phil Courses
3. 500/- ( 250/- forSC / ST / DA* ) for M.B.A.and M.C.A.
4. 500/- ( 250/- for SC / ST / DA* ) for Mtd Course
5. 100/- ( 50/-  for SC / ST / DA* ) for Certificate

Courses Applications can be obtained by submitting demand draft drawn in any Nationalised Bank in favour of “The Registrar, Periyar University”, payable at Salem.

Other modes of payment are strictly not allowed. A self addressed stamped envelope for 10/- of size 28 x 13 cms has to be enclosed to get the Periyar Institute application by post. Separate request has to be made for each program.

Last date for submission of Periyar University applications within 15 days from the publication of Higher Secondary Result by Government, of Tamil Nadu.

Periyar University Applications and prospectus can be obtained from the office of the Registrar from 29 April, 2011 onwards.

Periyar University Important Dates 2011 :

Last Date for Submissions of filled in Periyar College application forms 2011 :

For PG : 30 May 2011.

For MPhil : 15 days from the publication of PG results.

For MBA and MCA : 10 days from the publication of TANCET results.
