For inservice Candidates

The minimum qualifications for admission to Masters’ programmes for inservice candidates in the faculty of agriculture in the respective discipline shall be an OCPA of 5.50 or 55% aggregate marks or equivalent with at least 5 years professional experience (after completion of Bachelor’s degree) at the minimum level of Agricultural Development Officer or equivalent on the last date of receipt of applications in Teaching/Research/Extension in any department of Punjab Government/Union Territory of Chandigarh and other Semi- Govt. organization. The candidates who have experience on jobs lower than the Agricultural Development Officers and equivalent must possess minimum OCPA of 6.00 or 60% marks at the graduation level. For admission under inservice category, only those applications shall be considered which are duly forwarded by the Heads of the Departments/ Deans or Directors concerned, duly certified that during the study period, their lien will be retained against regular posts and on completion of their studies, they will join the said posts.

  • Candidates who are apply online Applicants have to pay ` 5320/- for each Entrance Test that includes the cost of downloaded form / Prospectus. A valid unique E-mail ID is necessary for uploading each application form.

  • Candidates who are apply offline Applicants have to pay ` 3820/- for each Entrance Test (` 500/- for additional option in MET-Agri. & MET-Home Science) in addition to cost of the Prospectus (` 2120/- at the Counter or ` 2260/- by Post)

Downloading admit card

The admit card of the entrance test can be downloaded by clicking on the link “Click here to download your Roll No.”, on the PAU website (www.pau.edu) by entering the: Date of Birth and UID – for online applicants (UID will appear on the top of application form as well as on the Bank Challan Form downloaded & printed by the candidate). Date of Birth and Prospectus Number – for offline applicants. Offline applicants are required to sign & paste the same  photograph on the admit card as pasted on the application form and get the same attested from the Principal /Gazetted officer.  All applicants must bring a photo ID proof i.e. Aadhaar ID or Driving Licence or PAN Card or Voter
ID or Passport in original (not photocopy or scanned copy) along with downloaded admit card on the examination day, otherwise he/she will not be allowed to appear in the entrance test  In case any applicant is not able to download his/her admit card, he/she may contact the office of The Registrar, Thapar Hall, PAU, Ludhiana, two days before the date of entrance test alongwith a PROSPECTUS  2018-19 12 copy of application form and original receipt of Bank Challan Form (issued by the bank) and two passport size photographs.  No enquiries regarding admit card will be entertained on the day of entrance test. *Date for downloading the admit cards will be uploaded on PAU website after completing all the official formalities.

PAU Ludhiana PhD Admission Selection Procedure 2018

Minimum percentage of marks required to be obtained in the Entrance Test to be called for Counselling / Interview are 20% ( with negative marking ) in MCQ & 20% in Subjective test individually.

  • Performance in the Entrance Examination – 80% ( 60% MCQ + 20% subjective )
  • Masters Research by Thesis – 10%
  • Interview – 10%

Ph.D. students will be sent to other universities / institutes from various departments for their 1st semester. The candidates will be informed about the name of other university / institute and the date of their registration at the time of counselling.

The candidates, who are awarded fellowship by ICAR / CSIR / UGC through competitive examinations will be admitted to the Ph.D. programme of the University against additional seats in the concerned discipline without Entrance Test conducted by PAU. The candidates who have not been awarded Fellowship but cleared the examination conducted by ICAR / CSIR / UGC are required to appear in the Entrance Test and Interview conducted by PAU for admission to Ph.D. programme.
