BFA – Bachelor of Fine Arts Bharatanatyam
MFA – Master of Fine Arts Bharatanatyam
BFA ( Bharatanatyam ) – 4 Years ( 80 contact hours per year )
MFA ( Bharatanatyam ) – 2 Years ( 80 contact hours per year )
In any case the course will have to be completed within a maximum period of five years after the entry into the course.

Sastra University Thanjavur to Conduct EEE Technical Symposium – Sankalp 2012
Sastra University, Thanjavur will conduct Sankalp 2012, national level technical fest,which is to be held from 6th October, 2012( Saturday ) to 7th October, 2012( Sunday ).
Sankalp 2012, the national level technical symposium organized by the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering ( SEEE ) at Sastra University. The fest challenges the wits and puts to test the conceptual knowledge of budding engineers.
The name of the fest Sankalp, meaning “To Pledge” in Sanskrit, expresses the commitment shown by the SEEE in bringing out the best in every student.
Making its rebound in the 3rd edition, Sankalp promises to provide the students an enthralling and intellectual exposure in engineering and innovation. Spanning over 48 hours with extravagant prize money at stake, Sankalp is one of the most awaited technical symposiums in the country.
Every year, students from colleges all over India come together to challenge each other in various competitions, receive inputs and interact with eminent guest lecturers and enhance their skills through various workshops.
The B.Tech admissions rank list for 2012 – 2013 has been released by the Shanmugha Arts Science Technology and Research Academy ( SASTRA ) University Thanjavur on 9th June, 2012.
The first rank has been secured by Asok Ram of Velammal Matriculation School, Chennai, who got 99.8318 percent, with a score of 1,187 out of 1,200 in the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary exams. The second rank was bagged by S.Konakanchi of Resonance Junior College, Andhra Pradesh, with a score of 990 calculated as 99.5976 percent.
P.Jagadish Kumar of Kairali English School, Andhra Pradesh, and Kathala Asharaf of Siddharth Junior College Andhra Pradesh jointly secured the third rank with a percent of 99.3964 for 988 marks in the Plus Two exams.
Counselling will be held from 21st June, 2012 to 24th June, 2012 and call letters will be despatched to selected students electronically.
Plus Two marks have been normalised to bring all students to the same level of comparison and the rank list has been released based on normalised scores secured by candidates. Applications were received till 6 p.m. and the list was released at 9 p.m. Candidates can check their status on http://www.sastra.edu.
Thirty percent of the rest of the seats will be filled based on the all India rank in the AIEEE 2012 exams.
A total of 14,000 applications were received from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, said a press release.
Free coaching for IAS, IPS aspirants on 24th April, 2012
Shanmugha Arts Science Technology and Research Academy ( SASTRA ) University will conduct free coaching class for candidates appearing for the IAS and IPS examination on 24th April, 2012.
A college press release said that the University is planning to train aspirants from Thanjavur and other areas by inviting eminent scholars from Chennai and other parts of the country. Information regarding various competitive exams will be discussed during the one – day workshop to be conducted from 8.45 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on SASTRA main campus, Thanjavur.
