Institutions like National Institute of Fashion Technology and Apparel Training and Design Centre are giving quality – training programmes at the national level.
In Bangalore, Surana College affiliated to Bangalore University, is offering one – year diploma course in Fashion Designing and Management and a six – month craft course in Tailoring.
Here, students acquire skills like knowledge about fabrics, pattern making, sketching Indian and western costumes, costume jewelry, finishing garments, packing and labeling and personality development workshops.
Certificate is awarded by the state government’s department of Technical Education for the six months tailoring course.
