B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent – Institute of Science conducts CIEAT ( Crescent Institute Engineering Admission Test ) on an all India level for admissions to its BTech Degree Programmes. The selection of aspirants to the BTech programme is done on the basis of the merit of candidates in both the qualifying examination and Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the Institute. Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria are admitted to the first year BTech programmes through counselling.

CIEAT 2019 Eligibility

Eligibility For B.Tech Programme

  • Candidates should have passed 12th standard examination conducted by State Board / CBSE / ICSE or equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
  • Candidates should have appeared for the Crescent Institute Engineering Admission Test ( CIEAT 2019 ) or should have a valid score in JEE ( Main ).
  • Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full time and Formal Education alone are eligible to apply.
  • Age Limit : Candidates date of birth should fall on or after 01st July, 1997.

B.Tech Lateral Entry Eligibility

  • Diploma ( 3 years ) in Engineering / Technology awarded by state Board of Technical Education or Equivalent, with a minimum of 60% of marks. ( Or )
  • B.Sc.Degree from recognized university with a minimum of 60% of marks. Mathematics should be one of the subjects of study.
  • Age Limit : Candidates date of birth should fall on or after 01st July, 1997.

CIEAT 2019 Exam Pattern

  • CIEAT 2019 will be conducted in online mode ( computer based ) in all the centres. Candidates will answer a total of 100 objective type questions in a duration of two hours.
  • All questions will carry one mark each and the paper will be valued for a maximum of 100 marks.
  • The questions will be catagorised in four sections, namely, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
  • Mathematics and Biology sections will have 50 questions. Physics and Chemistry sections had 25 questions.
  • Candidates aspiring for Biotechnology and related programmes have to choose Biology, instead of Mathematics.
  • Each question will be followed by four answers, of which, only one will be correct / most appropriate.

How to apply

Applicants can apply for CIEAT 2019 in two ways

Online Application Process

  • Apply for CIEAT or
  • Register for JEE ( Main )

Candidates who apply online have to make a payment of Rupee750 / – through Internet banking / Credit Card / Debit Card or send a DD for Rupee750/- drawn in favour of ‘B.S.Abdur Rahman Crescent – Institute of Science’ payable at Chennai to the Director ( Admissions ).

On the back of the DD, aspirants have to write the name of the applicant and other details ( CIEAT–2019 ).  To obtain by post, aspirants are required to send a letter with DD for Rupee800/-

Offline Application Process

  • Application forms can be obtained in person from the institute Admission Office, on payment of Rupee750/-by cash or DD drawn in favour of “B.S.Abdur Rahman Crescent – Institute of Science”, payable at Chennai.
  • Name of the applicant and other details have to be written on the back of the DD.

CIEAT 2019 Admit Card

  • CIEAT 2019 admit card will be released in the month of April. The admit card will have an aspirant’s details name, roll number, exam date, test centre, scanned photograph etc.
  • It’s important to note that students need to carry the admit card to the test centre as without the same, candidates will not be required to appear for the exam.
  • The admit card needs to be preserved till the admission process concludes.

CIEAT 2019 Exam Date

CIEAT 2019 exam will be conducted on 21st April, 2019 ( at all Centres ), 20th – 25th April, 2019 ( at the campus, Chennai)

CIEAT 2019 Exam Result Date

CIEAT 2019 exam results are likely to be declared in the month of May, 2019

CIEAT 2019 Counselling

CIEAT 2019 counselling will be conducted in June once the results are announced. The counselling session will be attended by only those candidates who have successfully cleared the exam. Aspirants will be called for CIEAT counselling basis the merit rank list prepared on the basis of their scores in JEE Main or CIEAT.

Aspirants have to attend the CIEAT 2019 counselling in person with the following original documents in case of allotted seats:

  • Class 10 Pass Certificate
  • Class 12 Pass Certificate
  • CIEAT Admit card
  • Transfer Certificate from school/ institution last attended
  • Conduct Certificate from the school/ institution last attended
  • Community Certificate
  • Other testimonials as specified in the call letter

Once the seat allotted, aspirants are required to complete their admission formalities. If the required certificates are not submitted by the candidate at the time of counselling, the decision of the institute shall be final and binding regarding eligibility of candidate for counselling and admission to the programme.
