Candidates seeking admission to the B. Tech. degree course should have passed the HSC (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination thereto, with a minimum of 45% marks (a mere pass for SC / ST candidates) in aggregate, in the prescribed subjects, namely - Mathematics, Physics and any one of the following optional subjects: Chemistry/Bio-Technology/ Computer Science/ Biology (Botany & Zoology).
Candidates belonging to UT of Puducherry, and who have passed HSC (Vocational Stream in the area of Engineering & Technology) examination, conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination thereto with a minimum of 45% marks (a mere pass for SC candidates) in aggregate, in the prescribed subjects, namely: Vocational subjects and a related subject (Mathematics / Physics / Chemistry), are also eligible for admission to the B.Tech. degree course.
2. For M.B.B.S. Degree Course:
(Applicable to Puducherry UT resident candidates only)
Candidates seeking admission to the M.B.B.S. Degree course should have passed the HSC (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination thereto, with a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks for SC/OBC/ MBC candidates) in aggregate, in the prescribed subjects, namely - English, Biology / Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry.
3. For B.D.S. Degree Course:
Candidates seeking admission to the B.D.S. degree course should have passed the HSC (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination thereto, with a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks for SC candidates) in aggregate, in the prescribed subjects, namely: English, Biology / Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry.
For admission to NRI/NRI sponsored/Foreign students' quota in Mahatma Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences, Puducherry, (MGPGIDS), Puducherry, candidates may refer to the advertisement that will be released by the MGPGIDS in this regard, and also to Annexure-I of this Information Bulletin.
4. For B.V.Sc & A.H Degree Course:
Candidates seeking admission to the B.V.Sc.& A.H. Degree course should have passed the HSC (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination thereto, with a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks for SC candidates) in aggregate, in the prescribed subjects, namely: Biology / Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry.
5. For B.Pharm. Degree Course:
Candidates seeking admission B.Pharm degree course should have passed the HSC (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination thereto, with a minimum of 50% (40% for SC/ST, MBC/OBC candidates) marks in any one of the following combination of three subjects. Further, they should have studied English as one of the subjects.
Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following optional subjects: Biology (Botany&Zoology)/ Mathematics/BioTechnology/ Computer Science.
6. For B.Sc (Nursing), B.P.T. and B.Sc. (MLT) Degree Courses:
Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc (Nursing) and B.P.T Degree courses should have passed the HSC (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination thereto, with a minimum of 50% (40% for SC / ST / OBC / MBC candidates) marks in the following subjects. Further they should have studied English as one of the subjects: Biology / Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry.
However, Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc (MLT) Degree course should have passed the HSC (Academic/ Vocational) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination thereto, with a minimum of 50% (40% for SC / ST / OBC / MBC candidates) marks in any one of the following three combination of subjects. Further they should have studied English as one of the subjects:
Biology / Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry.
Physics, Foundation Science and Medical Laboratory Assistant Course.
Chemistry, Foundation Science and Nursing Course.
7. For B.Sc (Agri) Degree Course
Candidates seeking admission to B. Sc. (Agri.) Degree course should have passed the HSC (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination thereto, with a minimum of 50% marks (a mere pass for SC candidates) in aggregate, in the prescribed subjects, namely Biology / Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry).
