GSAT 2017 Eligibility

Candidates seeking admission to various M.Sc. programmes of GITAM Institute of Science, GITAM University are required to appear for GITAM Science Admission Test ( GSAT 2017 ) to be held at various centres in Andhra Pradesh and other parts of India. Admission is based on the rank obtained in the entrance test.

Requirement for admission to all science programmes is a minimum aggregate of 50% or second division marks in group ( optional ) subjects in the qualifying examination.

Candidates who have appeared / are appearing for the final examinations in 2017 are also eligible. The GSAT 2017 consists of the following tests. In each test, there will be 60 multiple choice questions from the syllabus which can be downloaded from the GITAM website www.gitam.edu.

Ranks will be given separately based on the performance in the respective tests.

GITAM Institute of Science, GITAM University, offers the following courses for Intermediate / +2 candidates.

  • Bachelor of Environmental Management ( BEM )
  • Five year Integrated M.Sc. Programme in Biotechnology ( with an option to secure B.Sc. at the end of 3rd year and B.Sc. ( Hons. ) at the end of 4th year ) [Candidates with science optionals are only eligible]

Five year Integrated M.Sc. Programme in Chemistry ( Sponsored by Laurus Labs ) .

  • Bachelor of Computer Applications ( BCA )
  • Bachelor of Science  ( B.Sc. with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics )

Candidates with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at Intermediate / +2 only can applyCandidates seeking admission to the above programmes are required to appear for an entrance test GSAT 2017 to be held at various centres in Andhra Pradesh and other parts of India.

For admission to M.Sc. Programmes

  • Candidates seeking admission to MCA programme are required to appear for an entrance test GSAT – 2017 to be held at various centres in Andhra Pradesh and other parts of India.
  • Admission is based on the rank obtained in the entrance test.
  • Requirement for admission to the above programmes is a pass in any Degree with 50% Marks and Mathematics at +2 level or Degree level or equivalent examination.
  • Candidates who have appeared / are appearing for the final examinations in 2017 are also eligible.

GSAT 2017 Online Application Form

How to Apply :

Applications can be downloaded from GITAM website www.gitam.edu.

Applications can be obtained by post, from Principal, GITAM Institute of Science by sending a request on plain paper giving the candidate’s name with complete mailing address, accompanied by DD for Rupee 350 / – ( inclusive of Test fee Rupee 300 / – ) drawn in favour of GITAM University payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank. Request by post will be accepted till 15th April, 2017.The test fee for Five year Integrated M.Sc. Chemistry sponsored by Laurus Labs is Rupee 500.

Candidates appearing for more than one test need to submit separate application along with the prescribed fee of Rupee 300 / – for each test.

Filled in applications along with attested copies of the following certificates and the prescribed fee of Rupee 300 / – or Rupee 500 as the case may be should reach the Principal, GITAM Institute of Science, GITAM UNIVERSITY, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam-530 045, A.P., India on or before 25th April, 2017

  • Date of Birth extract of SSC / ICSE / CBSE / Matriculation certificate
  • Degree / Provisional Certificate of the qualifying degree examination in the case of candidates appearing for PG programmes. Intermediate / 10 +2 certificate in the case of candidates appearing for UG programmes
  • Caste Certificate issued by appropriate authority for claiming reservation under SC / ST
  • Medical Certificate issued by appropriate authority for claiming under PH category

Hall Tickets :

  • Hall tickets will be sent to candidates by post one week before the date of commencement of entrance test. In case of non-receipt of hall ticket in time, candidates are advised to contact the office of the Principal, GITAM Institute of Science, GITAM University at Tel No. ( 0891 ) 2840516 / 450 / 452 two days before the test date.
  • Hall ticket should be retained carefully as it has to be produced at the time of admission.
  • Hall tickets can also be downloaded from www.gitam.edu.
