Indira Gandhi National Open University ( IGNOU ) invites applications from eligible candidates for admission to Bachelor of Education ( B.Ed ) for the session January, 2018

IGNOU BEd 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates with

  • At least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and / or in the Master‘s Degree in Science / Social Sciences / Commerce / Humanity. Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualifications equivalent thereto, And
  • Trained in-service teachers in elementary education, OR
  • Candidates who have completed a NCTE recognized teacher educations programme through face-to-face mode.
  • The reservation and relaxation of 5% marks in minimum eligibility will be provided to SC / ST / OBC ( Non-creamy layer ) / PWD candidates as per the rules of the Central Government. The Reservation to Kashmiri Migrants and War-widow candidates will be provided as per University Rules.
  • Masters’ Degree awarded without a first degree is not accepted for purpose of Academic Studies in IGNOU

IGNOU BEd 2018 Application Form

  • Application form and prospectus can also be downloaded from the website www.ignou.ac.in and sent along with a DD / IPO for Rupee 50/- in favour of IGNOU payable at New Delhi / city of Regional Centre concerned by Registered / Speed Post to regional centre concerned to Bachelor of Education ( B.Ed .)

IGNOU 2018 Exam Pattern

The test paper will consist of two parts A & B. The total number of test items will be 100 of one mark each. Maximum Marks allotted to the test is 100. The composite time for the complete test is Two Hours.

IGNOU 2018 Hall Ticket

Indira Gandhi National Open University issues Examination Hall Ticket to the student’s atleast two week before the commencement of Term – end Examination. The same could also be downloaded from the University’s website www.ignou.ac.in. In case any student fails to receive the Examination Hall Ticket within one week before the commencement of the examination, the student can download the hall ticket from the website and approach the exam centre for appearing in the exam by producing his / her IGNOU identity card.

IGNOU offers M Phil / PhD programmes under two categories: part time and full time. Both categories of students will be required to attend classes if course work is allotted to them.

IGNOU PhD MPhil Eligibility 2018

M.Phil Programmes

  • Master’s Degree from a University recognized by UGC in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks [ 50% marks in the case of SC,ST and OBC ( Non-creamy Layer ) / Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s Degree prior to19th September,1991 ].
  • Applicants are required to see Appendix II for further details on eligibility criteria for specific programmes.

Geography ( SOS )

  • M.A. / M.Sc. in Geography, Earth Systems Science and Relevant Discipline of Geospatial Technology”.

Chemistry ( SOS )

  • Master’s Degree in Chemistry.

Sociology ( SOSS )

  • Master’s Degree in Sociology or allied disciplines.

Political Science ( SOSS )

  • Master’s Degree in Political Science or allied disciplines.

Economics ( SOSS )

  • Only the candidates who have qualified UGC-NET with JRF in Economics are eligible.

Translation Studies ( SOTST )

  • Master’s Degree in Translation Studies or in allied subjects.

Social Work ( SOSW )

  • MSW / M.A. ( Social Work )

Commerce ( SOMS )

  • Master’s Degree in Commerce.

Distance Education ( SOE )

  • Master’s Degree in Distance Education / Education /Mass Communication and New Media Studies Master’s Degree in Distance Education / MA Education /M.Ed / Masters in Mass Communication and new media study / any Masters Degree with B.Ed / M.Ed.

Ph.D Programmes

  • Master’s Degree from a University recognized by UGC in the relevant discipline with atleast 55% marks [50%marks in the case of SC,ST and
    OBC(Non-creamy Layer)/Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of UGC from time to time, or for those
    who had obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September,1991].
  • Candidates holding M.Phil. degree ( along with course work and dissertation both) or those candidates who have cleared NET ( conducted by UGC / CSIR / ICAR ) or any other equivalent examination will be exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test.
  • Those who have not cleared NET / any other equivalent examination or not holding M.Phil. Degree will be required to appear in the Entrance Test

Geology  ( SOS )

Postgraduation in Geology or Geological Science or Applied Geology or GeoExploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine
Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Petroleum Geosciences or Petroleum Exploration or Geochemistry or Geophysics or
Hydrogeology or Geomatics or Geoinformatics or Remote Sensing and GIS from any recognized university.

Statistics ( SOS )

  • M. Phil. in Statistics or qualified UGC-CSIR NET / SLET in Statistics with Post Graduation in Statistics / Applied Statistics ( or )
  • Post Graduation in Statistics / Applied Statistics with minimum 55% from any recognized university.

Geography ( SOS )

  • M.A. / M.Sc. in Geography, Earth Systems Science and Relevant Discipline of Geospatial Technology.

Gender and Development Studies ( SOGDS )

  • Master’s degree in Gender Studies or Gender & Development Studies with 55%. ( OR )
  • Master’s degree in other streams with one or two courses in the area of Gender Studies or Gender & Development Studies and / or with demonstrable evidence of teaching and / or research and publications in the area of Gender Studies or Gender & Development Studies.

Women’s studies

Master’s degree in Women’s Studies or Gender Studies with 55% ( OR ) Master’s degree in other streams with one or two courses in the area of

Biochemistry

  • UGCNET ( including JRF ) /UGC /CSIR-NET ( including JRF ) / SLET / GATE / M Phil or should be a teacher fellowship holder of UGC.

Area of specialisation : Physics Education & Nuclear Reactor Physics

  • Master’s Degree and / or M.Phil. Degree in Anthropology or equivalent areas – Sociology, History, Forensic Science, Demography, Public Health.

IGNOU PhD MPhil Selection Procedure 2018

Stage 1 : Entrance Test

  • The Entrance Test is qualifying in nature.
  • The Entrance Test will be conducted by the University on 4th March 2018 ( Sunday ) at National Level in select examination centres across the country.
  • The list of candidates who will be required to appear for the Entrance Test will be displayed on IGNOU website www.ignou.ac.in.
  • Hall Tickets enabling the candidates to take the Entrance Test will also be displayed on IGNOU website. Candidates are required to download and print the same to appear in the Entrance Test.
  • Candidates are required to bring with them an original identity proof having photograph, such as Aadhar Card, Voter ID Card, Driving License, Passport and ID Card issued by Govt. Agencies.
  • Those who secure at least 50% marks in the entrance test ( 45% marks incase of SC / ST / PH ) will be shortlisted for the interview in order of merit subject to the maximum limit of five times of the available seats.

Stage 2 : Interview / Presentation

  • Short-listed Candidates in the Entrance Test will be called for interview / presentation of Synopsis before the Discipline specific Doctoral
    Research Committee.
  • Those candidates exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test will also be called for interview / presentation of Synopsis before the Discipline specific Doctoral Research Committee.
  • Offer letters for admission will be sent to the Selected Candidates only.
