MHT CET 2018 Entrance Exam

State common entrance test cell, maharashtra, Mumbai  ( MHT CET ) invites admission application for B.E  / B.Tech and B.Pharm. / Pharm. D programs for the academic session 2018 – 2019.

As per the provision in section 2 ( e ) and section 10 ( 4 ) of Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions ( Regulation of Admissions and Fees ) Act, 2015 ( Mah. XXVIII of 2015 ), the Competent Authority is conducting CET ( MHT CET 2018 ) for admissions to Engineering and Pharmacy Under Graduate Courses for Academic Year 2018 – 2019.

The Online applications are invited for CET for admission to First Year of full time Under Graduate Degree courses in Engineering / Technology ( B.E. / B.Tech ) and Pharmacy ( B.Pharm / Pharm D. ) in the Government, Govt. Aided, University Managed, University Departments and Unaided Institutes in the Maharashtra State, as per following schedule.

MHT CET 2018 Eligibility

Eligibility for admission to first year Engineering / Technology, Pharmacy, Pharm D. Courses

All the candidates passed / appearing at the qualifying examination i.e. HSC/12th Standard examination or its equivalent examination and having Indian Nationality are eligible for appearing for MHT-CET 2018. There is no age limit for admission and appearing to MHT-CET 2018.

Candidature Type

Maharashtra State Candidature : A Candidate can claim only one type of Maharashtra State Candidature Type i.e. from Type A to E.

TypeEligibility Criterion
Type - A(i) Candidates passing SSC and also HSC or Diploma in Engineering or Bachelor of
Science Examination from a recognised institution in Maharashtra State;
(ii) Candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and / or is born in Maharashtra;
Type - BA Candidate who does not fall in Type-A above, but who or whose Father or Mother
is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possess Domicile Certificate.
Type - CA Candidate who does not fall in either Type-A or Type-B but whose Father or Mother
is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and
who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date
for submission of Application Form for CAP.
Type - DA Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C but
whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of
Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.
Type - ECandidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognised institution located
in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area or from Maharashtra, residing in
the disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border area and whose Mother tongue is
Marathi.

All India Candidature : The Candidates having Indian Nationality are eligible under this Category.

Minority Candidature : The Candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community from State of Maharashtra and as notified by the Government are eligible under this Category.

Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature : The children of citizens, who are displaced from Jammu and Kashmir to any part of India or from unsafe border area of Jammu and Kashmir to a relatively safer place in Jammu and Kashmir from 1990 onwards due to terrorist activities (or)

The children of officers belonging to Indian Administrative Services ( IAS ) or Indian Police Services ( IPS ) or Indian Foreign Services ( IFS ) and children of staff belonging to military and paramilitary forces transferred to Jammu and Kashmir to combat terrorist activities and joined the post on or before the last date for submission of application for admission (or)

The children of staff and officers of Jammu and Kashmir police engaged in combating terrorism are eligible under this category.

Note : However as preference is given to the J & K Migrant candidates appeared for JEE ( Main ) 2018 over MHT-CET 2018 are advised to appear for JEE ( Main ) 2018.

Children of NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National – These types of Candidature Candidates are exempted from appearing for MHTCET 2018.

Note :

It is mandatory to appear for MHT-CET 2018 for candidates belonging to Maharashtra State Candidature, Minority Candidature seeking admission to B.E. / B. Tech. However All India Candidature & Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature candidates may or may not appear for MHT-CET 2018 as Score of JEE ( Main ) Paper I shall be preferred over MHT-CET 2018 for admission to B.E. / B. Tech.

It is mandatory to appear for MHT-CET 2018 for candidates belonging to Maharashtra State Candidature, Minority Candidature All India Candidature, & Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature seeking admission to B. Pharm. / Pharm. D.

Eligibility Criterions as per notification dated 24th April, 2017 or its amendment from time to time

First Year - Engineering / Technology(1) Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate. -
(i) The Candidate should be an Indian National;
(ii) Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects, and obtained at least 50% marks ( at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only ) in the above subjects taken together; and Obtained score in MHT CET 2018. (or)
(ii) Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks ( at least 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only ) (or)
(ii) Passed B.Sc. Degree from a Recognised University as defined by UGC. and obtained at least 50% marks ( at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only ) and passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject;
(2) All India Candidature Candidates, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidates.
(i) The Candidate should be an Indian National;
(ii) Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects and obtained at least 50% marks ( at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only ) in the above subjects taken together and Obtained score in JEE ( Main ) Paper I or MHT CET 2018. (or)
(ii) Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks ( at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only ); (or)
(ii) Passed B.Sc. Degree from a Recognised University as defined by University Grants Commission and obtained at least 50% marks ( at least 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only ) and passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject.
First Year - PharmacyMaharashtra State Candidature Candidates and All India Candidature Candidates.
(i) The candidate should be an Indian National;
(ii) Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics or Biotechnology or
Biology and obtained at least 50% marks ( at least 45% marks in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only )
in the above subjects taken together;
(iii) Obtained Score in MHT CET 2018.
First Year- Pharm D.Maharashtra State Candidature and All India Candidature Candidates,
(i) The candidate should be an Indian National;
(ii) Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with subjects Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics or Biotechnology or Biology and obtained at least 50% marks ( at least 45% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging only to Maharashtra State ) in the above subjects taken together (or)
(ii) Passed Diploma Course in Pharmacy from institutes affiliated to State Board and having approval of competent central authority and State Government and obtained at least 50% marks ( at least 45% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging only to Maharashtra State );
(iii) The candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks in the MHT CET 2018.

Note :

Eligibility criteria for Candidates belonging to Person with Disability : In addition to the basic qualification mentioned above, candidate who is suffering from any one of the following permanent disability is eligible to seek admission against seats reserved for Persons with Disability candidates ( i.e. Candidate who is visually impaired ( blind ) Candidate type- P1, Candidate who is speech & hearing impaired ( deaf & dumb ) Candidate type- P2, Candidate who has orthopedic disorders, learning disabilities, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Spastic Candidate type -P3 ), provided they submit a certificate clearly stating that the extent of disability is not less than 40% and the disability is of permanent nature.

Admission to Mining Engineering course : Female candidates are not eligible for admission to Mining Engineering course.

MHT CET 2018 Examination Scheme

Syllabi of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology for the MHT CET 2018, is declared by Director, Technical Education, Mumbai vide Letter No. 2A/ADM/2017/1157 dated 04.10.2017 and is as follows :

  • The questions will be based on Syllabus of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
  • Approximately 20% weightage will be given to Std. XI curriculum and 80% weightage will be given to Std. XII curriculum while setting the question paper.
  • There will be no Negative Marking, however difficulty level will be at par with the JEE ( Main ) for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and difficulty level for Biology will be at par with NEET. The questions will be mainly application based.
  • MHT CET will consist of 3 question papers of Multiple Choice Questions ( MCQ ) and each paper will be of 100 marks.

MHT CET 2018 Online Application Form

How to Apply

The information brochure for MHTCET 2018 is available on website http://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/mhtcet2018. Candidate is advised to download and print the brochure. For submission of online application form the candidates should login at http://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/mhtcet2018 website. The detailed procedure for online submission of application form & registration is as follows.

Procedure for MHT CET 2018 Registration and payment through Debit / Credit Card / Net Banking / e- wallet

A candidate has to first register for MHT CET 2018 at http://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/mhtcet2018 and only then he / she can make the payment online.

MHT CET 2018 Registration : In order to register online, the candidate has to visit the website http://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/mhtcet2018 and click ”Apply Online”. The MHT CET 2018 Registration page opens up wherein he / she has to fill-in the online form. The information to be provided includes personal details and uploading of your recent color passport photograph and signature.

Filling of Online Application form : The candidate will be prompted to enter valid personal email id, personal mobile No. and a password along with other required information while filling the online form. Remember the password set. Use this password during the application form filling. An email and SMS will be sent to this registered email id and mobile no. Please quote your Application no. in all future correspondence with MHT- CET Office.

Application Fee

Application form processing fees to be paid through online system only by Internet Payment, Credit Card / Debit Card ( RuPay / Visa / MasterCard / Maestro ), Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards, etc for which the service charges, as per rules, shall be applicable in addition to the application form processing fees. No other mode of payment shall be permitted. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.

Important Note : 

  • An incomplete application form will be rejected. Application form sent by post / courier will be rejected. The candidate shall submit one and only one application form. In case, candidate submits more than one application form. The last submitted online application form along with payment will be treated as valid.

  • In case of mail not received in INBOX, also check the Spam / Junk folder.

MHT CET 2018 Exam Centres

The MHT CET 2018 will be conducted at all the district headquarters in the State of Maharashtra. The MHT CET examination center will be within the same district from where the candidate has passed / is appearing at the qualifying examination i.e. HSC / 12th Standard examination. The eligible candidates passing qualifying examination from outside thestate of Maharashtra can select the examination center of their choice while filling the online application form. The center once allotted shall not be changed under any circumstances.
