M.V.Sc.Candidates possessing a B.V.Sc. / B.V.Sc. & A.H degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereof shall be eligible to apply. The candidates should have completed their degree from colleges recognized by the Veterinary Council of India. - Only 75% of the admission strength for the year is available for the candidates from Tamil Nadu. The remaining 25% is reserved for candidates from other states through ICAR. If there are any unfilled seats, in state quota, the same will be filled with candidates from other states who have applied and appeared for the entrance examination conducted by the University. The candidates from other states will be considered for admission by maintaining a separate rank list only against the vacancies that may arise from the state quota. - Candidates from other states cannot claim admission in the quota reserved for Tamil Nadu state candidates as a matter of right on the basis of merit. - Candidates who are seeking admission under Tamil Nadu state quota to the M.V.Sc. degree courses excepting those who have undergone Undergraduate degree course ( B.V.Sc. & A.H ) in Tamil Nadu on selection from Tamil Nadu state quota should furnish a Nativity Certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format in the application form. - Candidates with an OGPA of 2.75 out of 4.00 under trimester system or 6.5 out of 10.0 or 65% aggregate under semester pattern alone are eligible to apply for admission to M.V.Sc.degree program. Candidates who have studied under conventional system should possess a minimum of 55% marks in their Bachelor’s degree. Candidates who have passed B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree under the Veterinary Council of India ( VCI ) regulations should have obtained a minimum of 55% marks. For SC / ST candidates, a minimum pass is sufficient.The selection of candidates for admission to M.V.Sc. / M.Tech. degree programs shall be done on the basis of the marks obtained in the Common Entrance Examination and the qualifying examination marks obtained in the B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.Tech. degree programs.

MTech ( Food Technology )Candidates possessing a B.Tech. ( FPT / FT ) degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or candidates who have studied a four years degree programme in Food Processing Technology / Food Technology / Food Engineering / Dairy Technology or equivalent Engineering or Technology course from a recognised University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereof shall be eligible to apply. - Candidates with an OGPA of 2.75 out of 4.00 under trimester system or 6.5 out of 10.0 or 65% aggregate under semester pattern alone are eligible to apply for admission to M.Tech. ( Food Technology ) degree programme. Candidates who have studied under conventional system should possess a minimum of 55% marks in their Bachelor’s degree. For SC / ST candidates, a minimum pass is sufficient.

MBA in Food and Livestock Business ManagementCandidates possessing a BVSc, BVSc & AH, BTech ( Food Technology / Dairy Technology / Poultry Technology ), BFSc, BSc ( Ag / Hort ), BTech ( Food Engineering / Agri. Engineering ), and all professional graduates of State Veterinary Universities / Agricultural Universities / Deemed Universities under ICAR system with a minimum of 6.00 / 10.00 or equivalent percentage.The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in Entrance Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

PhD in Veterinary and Animal Sciences and Food TechnologyOnly 75% of the admission strength for the year is available for the candidates from Tamil Nadu. The remaining 25% is reserved for candidates from other states and Union Territories. If there are any unfilled seats under Tamil Nadu state quota, the same will be filled with candidates of other states and union territories by maintaining a separate merit list. If there are any unfilled seats under other states and Union Territories quota the same will be filled with the candidates of Tamil Nadu State. All candidates should apply and appear for the entrance examination conducted by the University. - The candidates qualified for Senior Research Fellowship of ICAR are exempted from appearing for entrance examination. They will be given admission to PhD in their discipline on priority basis within the 25% quota available to them, subject to availability of seats. In case the no. of such applicants is more than the available / allotted seats, their OGPA will be considered as the deciding criterion. - Candidates who are seeking admission under Tamil Nadu state quota to the Ph.D. Degree Program in Veterinary and Animal Sciences, except those who have undergone Undergraduate Degree course ( B.V.Sc.& A.H.) in Tamil Nadu on selection from Tamil Nadu state quota, should furnish a Nativity Certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format in the application form. - Candidates with an OGPA of 2.75 out of 4.00 under trimester system or 6.5 out of 10.0 under semester system or 65% aggregate in the Masters degree alone are eligible to apply for admission to Ph.D. degree program in Veterinary and Animal Sciences / Food Technology. For SC / ST candidates, a minimum pass is sufficient. - Candidates who have graduated at Masters level in one discipline cannot seek admission in another discipline. - Candidates with B.V.Sc & A.H degree and Masters degree in the concerned field of specialization from a recognised University shall alone be eligible to apply ( Except Animal Biotechnology and Livestock Products Technology ).
However, for PhD in Animal Biotechnology, candidates with M.V.Sc degree in any field of specialization ( except Animal Husbandry Economics, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension and Animal Husbandry Statistics ) or M.Sc. degree in Biotechnology with basic B.V.Sc & A.H. degree recognised as equivalent thereto shall be eligible to apply.
For PhD in Livestock Products Technology, candidates with a M.V.Sc. degree in Dairy Science (or) Meat Science and Technology (or) Livestock Products Technology with a basic B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree recognised as equivalent thereto shall be eligible to apply.
For Ph.D. in Food Technology, candidates with M.Sc in Food Technology, Food Science and Technology, Post Harvest Technology, Food Processing Technology, Food Process Engineering, Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, Biochemistry / Food Chemistry and candidates with Master Degree in Food Technology related engineering Subjects with five years of experience in Food Institute are eligible to apply. candidates with an OGPA of
2.75 out of 4.00 under trimester system or 6.5 out of 10.00 under semester system or 55% marks in
conventional system in masters degree alone or eligible for admission to PhD in Food Technology.
For SC / ST candidates, a minimum pass is sufficient.
Candidates for Ph.D. degree program will be selected based on the marks obtained in the Entrance Examination and other criteria as detailed follow : Entrance Examination - 75, OGPA in MVSc / MTech ( Food Technology ) - 40, Service / Experience - 10, Publications - 15, Medals / Awards - 10.
5.
MPhil in BiotechnologyA candidate with Masters degree in the disciplines of Biological / Biomedical Sciences like Biotechnology, Animal Biotechnology, Medical Biotechnology, Environmental Biotechnology, Marine Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Molecular Biology, Gene Technology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Zoology, Environmental Sciences, Genetics, Marine Biology, Fisheries Science etc. from a recognised university with 60% aggregate marks or equivalent OGPA in the respective PG degree. For SC/ST candidates, a minimum pass is sufficient.Candidates will be selected based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination and other criteria as detailed follow : Entrance examination, Marks in postgraduate degree, Service / Experience, Publications, Medals / Awards
6.
MSc in BioinformaticsAny graduate with a minimum qualification of B.V.Sc., B.V.Sc. & A.H., M.B.B.S., B.D.S., or B.Sc. degree in any branch of Agriculture/Life Sciences/Genetics/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics / Microbiology / Pharmacology or equivalent of Indian or Foreign University with an OGPA of 2.75 / 4.0 in trimester system or 6.5/10.0 in semester system or 50% in conventional system. A minimum pass is sufficient for SC / ST candidates.The selection of candidates for admission to M.Sc. ( Bioinformatics ) will be based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination and the qualifying examination marks.

MSc in BiostatisticsGraduate with B.Sc.( Ag ) / B.Sc.( Hort ) / B.Tech.( FPT ) / B.Tech.( Dairy Tech ) or any degree in life / biological sciences with an OGPA of 2.75 / 4.0 in trimester system or 6.5 / 10.0 in semester system or 50% in conventional system. A minimum pass is sufficient for SC / ST candidates.The selection of candidates for admission to M.Sc. ( Biostatistics ) will be based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination and the qualifying examination marks.

PG Diploma in Bio - informaticsA graduate with any one of the following qualifications: B.V.Sc.,/ B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.F.Sc., B.Sc.( Agri.), B.Sc.( Horti.), B.E., B.Tech., M.B.B.S., B.D.S., M.Sc., MCA or postgraduate degree with Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Biotechnology / Biophysics / Botany / Zoology / Biology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Pharmacology / Computer Science/ Statistics of any recognised University with an OGPA 2.75/4.0 in trimester system or 6.5/10.0 in semester system or 50% in conventional system. A minimum pass is sufficient for SC / ST candidates.Candidates will be selected based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination.

PG Diploma in Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosis / Companion Animal PracticeCandidates possessing a B.V.Sc./ B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereto shall be eligible to apply with an OGPA of 2.75 / 4.0 in trimester system or 6.5/10.0 in semester system or 50% in conventional system. A minimum pass is sufficient for SC / ST candidates.The selection of candidates for admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosis / Companion Animal Practice will be based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination and the qualifying examination marks obtained in the B.V.Sc. / B.V.Sc. & A.H course.

PG Diploma in Business Management in Animal and Fisheries Science ( Part Time - Evening Course )A candidate possessing a Bachelor’s Degree in professional courses like B.V.Sc., B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.F.Sc., B.Sc. ( Agri ), B.E., B.Sc., ( Hort.), M.B.B.S., B.L., of recognized University (or) equivalent (or) any Bachelor’s Degree in Science (or) Arts with an OGPA of 2.75 out of 4.00 in trimester system (or) 6.5 out of 10.0 in semester system (or) 50% in conventional system shall be eligible. A minimum pass is sufficient for SC / ST candidates.The students are selected duly applying the rule of reservation on the basis of their performance in Entrance Test, Group discussion and Personal Interview.

Note :-

  1. Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age Group 6 – 11 years.
  2. Language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the Medium of Instruction. The Candidate has to choose any one of the languages mentioned in Sl. No. ii above. For recruitment process candidates shall be considered for the vacancies in the concerned medium only.
  3. Language II – ENGLISH will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
  4. Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects.
  5. The questions in the test Paper I will be based on the topics of the prescribed Syllabus of the State for Classes I – V but their difficulty level as well as linkages will be upto the Secondary Stage.

 Scheme of TNTET 2014 Written Examination Paper 1

    1. Question Paper will have 150 Multiple Choice Questions in the subjects under the relevant paper as mentioned above.
    2. Candidates have to mark the right choice of answers among the four options. Each right answer will be awarded one mark. There will not be any negative marking.
    3. The questions for all the subjects ( except languages ) will be both in Tamil and English.
    4. The syllabi for the subjects covered are already published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette and also available in the Teachers Recruitment Board’s official website www.trb.tn.nic.in.
    5. The Teacher Eligibility Test Paper I will be conducted on August, 2014 following the time schedule mentioned below :

    6. The Venue for the Examination will be intimated in the Hall Ticket. The Hall Tickets for all the eligible candidates will be uploaded by the Teachers Recruitment Board in its official Website. Candidates are advised to refer the TRB Website ( www.trb.tn.nic.in ) and download their Hall Ticket. No written communication will be sent to the candidates.
    7. The decision of the Teachers Recruitment Board on the eligibility of the candidate to appear for the examination will be final.

Tamilnadu Teacher Eligibility Test 2014 Certificate :

  1. A person who secures 60% or more in the TET Paper I examination and possesses prescribed qualification for the post of Secondary Grade Teacher in Tamil Nadu will be considered as TET Paper I Pass. This will be the qualifying marks for the candidates of all the categories.
  2. Candidates are allowed to appear for the TET Paper I Examination only on the basis of their declaration that they possess the required qualification for the post of Secondary Grade Teacher.
  3. Candidates who have secured 60% and above in the TET Paper I Examination will be called for Certificate Verification.
  4. During Certificate Verification their academic qualifications will be verified.
  5. After Certificate Verification TET certificate will be issued only to eligible candidates.
  6. TET Certificate will be valid for 7 years from the date of issue of the certificate
  7. TET qualification is only one of the eligibility conditions for appointment. Mere holding of a TET certificate does not confer any right to appointment.
