DAVV DET Entrance Exam 2019
The Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya invites the application from eligible candidate to Doctoral Entrance Test 2019 for admission to the Ph.D / M Phil Programs in the following subjects.
DAVV DET 2019 Eligibility
A candidate for the degree of Ph.D. / M.Phil. must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned or allied subject with at least 55% marks ( 50% for SC / ST / OBC ( non – creamy layer ) / Differently – Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree priorto19thSeptember,1991.) of the university, a deemed university or other university in corporated by any law for the time being in force and recognized by the University. The candidates appearing in the final semester / year examination may also apply but they have to submit their final result as per above mentioned percentage before submission of application for registration in Ph.D. / M.Phil
A candidate shall ordinarily be permitted to work for Ph.D. / M . Ph i l . d egree in the subject in which he / she has obtained his/her Master’s degree. However, research work leads to Ph.D. / M.Phil. degree may be allowed in allied subject of interdisciplinary nature of the same faculty or of allied faculties. In such cases, candidates may be permitted to work under one or two co-supervisors along with the supervisor.
The students who have qualified UGC-NET with JRF / UGC-CSIR-NET with JRF / teacher fellowship holder or any other Government / Foreign research fellowship holder or have passed M.Phil. programme ( as per UGC Regulations 2009 or amended thereafter ) with course work shall be exempted from the entrance test but they have to appear in the interview. It is Mandatory for all candidates ( including the candidates who are exempted from entrance Test ) to apply online through MP Online https://davv.mponline.gov.in. The students who have qualifies UGC / CSIR NET Without JRF or SLET or SET have to appear in the DET for admission in MPhil / PhD. The research fellowships directly awarded to the students by the central / state government will be considered as Govt fellowships.
DAVV DET 2019 Exam Pattern
The Doctoral Entrance Test will have the question paper in two parts. Part A shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions of 1 mark each based on research methodology. It shall be of generic nature, intended to assess the research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, data interpretation, and quantitative aptitude of the candidate. Part-B shall also consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions of 1 mark each based on the syllabus of the subject at Masters level.
The duration of the Doctoral Entrance Test will be of two hours. There will be no negative marking.The candidates must score minimum 50% marks in the entrance test to qualify for the interview. A list of the eligible candidates for interview will be notified on the university website.
DAVV DET 2019 Application Form
All the eligible candidates who wish to take admission in Ph.D. / M.Phil. programme will have to apply through MP-Online https://davv.mponline.gov.in along with the application fee. Last date of application is 26th March, 2019.
The application fee is [rupee] 1000/- ( Rupees One Thousand only ) for single Entrance Test ( either for PhD or for MPhil ). The application fee is [rupee] 1500/- ( Rupees One Thousand Five Hunderd only) for both Entrance Test for PhD and MPhil. In additional to the application fee [rupee] 50/- will also be charged extra as Online Service Charges. Candidates can pay fee online through MP Online authorized KIOSK in MP or through any ATM cum Debit card / Credit card or Net banking from anywhere.
DAVV DET 2019 Interview
The students who are exempted from the entrance test and who have qualified the DET shall have to appear in the interview for admission in Ph.D. / M.Phil. in the subject where they want to take admission. The interview shall be conducted by the Research Advisory Committee of the concerned subject. The date of interview in each subject will be notified on the website of the University.
The candidates are expected to bring the No Objection Letter from the proposed Supervisor and Co-supervisor ( if applicable ) duly forwarded from the Head of the research centre (s). The candidates should also bring with them the following documents:
- Original certificates and mark sheets along with a self-attested copy of each of the certificate and mark sheet of 10th, 12th, Graduation, and P.G. classes.
- Original documents along with a self-attested copy of SC / ST / OBC / MP domicile certificate ( whichever is applicable ) to claim the benefit of reservation, as per MP Govt. rules.
The candidates are required to discuss their research interest / area through a presentation before a duly constituted Research Advisory Committee. The interview / viva-voce shall also consider the following aspects, viz. whether:
- the candidate possesses the competence for the proposed research;
- the research work can be suitably undertaken at the research centre;
- the proposed area of research can contribute to new / additional knowledge.
The evaluation in interview will be based on 100 marks to be allocated in the following criteria, each of 25 marks
- Research plan
- Research potential / aptitude
- Communication skills
- Subject knowledge in the respective area of research.
Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained out of 100 marks in the interview.
The RAC shall finalize the list of the candidates to be admitted to the Ph.D. / M.Phil. programme in the concerned subject as per the merit and availability of seats. It shall also allot the Research centre, Supervisor, Co-Supervisor ( if any ), and approve the tentative area of the proposed research work. The final list shall be notified on the University website
