IICD Admission Eligibility Criteria 2019

Bachelor of Vocation in Crafts & Design ( B. VOC. )

  • 10 + 2 from a recognized board of education ( or )
  • Students appearing in the qualifying examination are eligible to apply.

Master of Vocation in Crafts and Design ( M. VOC. )

  • Recognized Degree or Diploma in Architecture / Design, Fashion / Fine Art, Home Science in Textiles & Clothing. ( or )
  • Artisan’s child / ward with 5 years direct work experience in hereditary traditional crafts after successful passing of Senior Higher Secondary Board Examination. ( or )
  • Graduates in any discipline with an aptitude towards craft, fashion or design. Students appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.

Admission Guidelines for Foreign Nationals / NRI Category

  • The Foreign Nationals / NRI candidates seeking admission to IICD must have qualifications similar or equivalent to that required for Indian Candidates. The candidates selected under this category would need to obtain a valid residential permit or student visa for the prescribed duration of the programme and / or any other condition required as per the law of land ( Government of India ).
  • The candidate must go through the process of entrance exam. In case the candidate is unable to travel to one of the centers in India, then they are required to send the following.
    • Statement of purpose
    • Portfolio or work samples
  • The candidate will have to appear for a skype interview.
  • The medium of instruction at IICD is English and all aspirants applying to IICD are expected to possess working knowledge of the English language.

IICD Admission Application Form 2019

  • Indian Institute of Crafts & Design admission application form will be available at website
  • The Admission process fee for Indian Candidates is ₹ 1,500/- ( Rs. One Thousand Five Hundred only ) and for NRI / Foreign National Candidates is ₹ 3000/- ( Rs. Three Thousand only ).

IICD Admission Admit Card 2019

  • Applicants will have to bring the print out of your Admit Card for entrance test along. Admit card is essential for entrance in Examination Hall.
  • Admit Card will be mailed for eligible candidates only ( refer IICD website ) on the candidate’s email id.
  • You need to bring at least one original ( not photo copy or scanned copy ) photo identification. The name on your photo identification must match your name as entered in Registration form for Entrance Test. Acceptable forms of photo identification types are limited to Driver’s License, Passport, PAN card, Voter ID, UID or Identity card of last school.

General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test

  • Test is designed to judge the abilities such as estimation of sizes and proportion, observation, synthesis and visual interpretation and general awareness.

Material, Color & Conceptual Test

This test will assess the following abilities:

  • Intelligent use of materials, conceptualize and realize a 3 dimensional form, skill of handling material.
  • To observe, think and expand ideas, create solution based on a plan and strategy.
  • Ability to provide multiple solutions to the given problem with written description.
  • Material required for Material, Color & Conceptual Test : Candidate must bring pens, pencils ( 2B, 4B & 6B ), scissor, scale, cello tape, paper cutter, fevistick, eraser, color pencils / dry pastels / water color etc.

  • Communication Ability
  • General Awareness about Crafts & Design
  • Overall Personal Achievements in academics and co-curricular activities.
