SMOT Entrance Test 2018

Applications are invited for admission into PGDBA and MBA courses through entrance examination in SMOT for the academic session 2018.

SMOT Entrance Test 2018 Eligibility

PGDBA ( 18 Months Full Time )

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA ( in case of the candidates belonging to OBC, this is relaxed to 45% and Scheduled Caste ( SC ) / Scheduled Tribe ( ST ) and Differently Abled ( DA ) category, this is relaxed to 40% ), or an equivalent degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
  • The Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling ( 10+2 ) or equivalent.
  • The percentage obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be based on the practice followed by the university / institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree.
  • In case of the candidates being awarded grades / CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the university / institution from where they have obtained bachelor’s degree.
  • In case the university / institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by SMOT by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.
  • Diploma holders with 2+ years of work experience.
  • Candidates appearing for the final year / semester of bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply.

Lateral Entry

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Bachelor of Business Administration ( BBA ) or Bachelor of Business Management ( BBM ), with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA ( in case of the candidates belonging to OBC, this is relaxed to 45% and Scheduled Caste ( SC ) / Scheduled Tribe ( ST ) and Differently Abled ( DA ) category, this is relaxed to 40% ), or an equivalent degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

PGDBA ( 24 Months Part Time Weekend )

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidates belonging to OBC, this is relaxed to 45% and Scheduled Caste ( SC ) / Scheduled Tribe ( ST ) and Differently Abled ( DA ) category, this is relaxed to 40% ), or an equivalent degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

MBA

  • Any ( UG ) Degree of Bharathidasan University or an equivalent examination accepted by the Syndicate thereto ( 10+2+3 ) with a minimum of 50% marks in Part III or its equivalent.
  • Candidates who have appeared for the final year / semester examinations of the qualifying degree are also eligible to apply to admission.
  • Applications from candidates with less than 50% of marks in the degree will be considered if the candidate encloses the work experience certificate.
  • Candidates who have completed MBBS., B.D.S., B.L., B.Pharm., AMIE and Bachelor of Physiotherapy are also eligible.

How to apply

  • SMOT application form will be available at the website  www.smot.edu.in.
  • Form Can also be obtained by sending a requisition with the requisite fee.
  • Application Form can also be obtained from our campus.
  • The filled in application forms must be submitted with attested copy of the following certificates
    • Xth & XIIth Marksheets.
    • Undergraduate / Diploma Semester wise / Year wise mark sheet.
    • Degree / Diploma certificate / Provisional certificate.
    • Work Experience Certificate if any applicable.

  • Candidates waiting for their final year results are also eligible to apply.
  • However, such candidates must produce relevant certificates prescribed for the eligibility within 4 weeks of joining the program, failing which their admission will be cancelled and the entire fee paid will be forfeited.

SMOT Entrance Test 2018 Selection Process

  • Candidates would have to take SMOT Aptitude Test ( SAT ) followed by GD & Personal Interview.
  • Candidates who have valid CAT / MAT / XAT / TANCET scores are exempted from appearing for SMOT Aptitude Test at the discretion of the selection panel.
