Mode of Entrance Test

The AIET 2007 will be of three hours duration.There will be one question paper at the Entrance Test in English medium containing 200 multiple choice questions ( MCQs ), 50 each in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each correct answer carries one mark. There is no negative marking. Other details regarding syllabus, model question paper, specimen answer sheet, method of marking answers etc. are given separately in this brochure.

Date and Time of AIET 2007: The AIET 2007 will be conducted on Thursday,
May 10, 2007, from 12.00 noon to 3.00 PM at the appointed centres.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates satisfying the following criteria shall be eligible to appear for AIET 2007:

1. Candidates must be Indian National.The Nationality Certificate issued by the District Magistrate/ Additional District Magistrate / Chief Metropolitan Magistrate or a valid Passport shall constitute proof of Nationality.
2. The candidate must be either of 17 years of age or attain this age as on 31.12.2007.(i.e. the candidate should not have been born after 31.12.1990)
3. Candidate should have passed H.S.C (10 + 2) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board with English securing minimum 50 % marks (40 % for all categories of Backward class students) in the aggregate of the subjects namely, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany & Zoology) for admission to MBBS/ BDS/ B.P.Th/ B.Tech (Cosmetics)/ Diploma in GNM courses. The Backward class candidates must attach copy of the Caste Certificate and Caste Verification Certificate along with the application.

For admission to BAMS course, the candidate should have passed the qualifying examination with and in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. Candidate desirous of getting admitted to BAMS course should tick the appropriate box in the application form.

Candidates who have appeared for H.S.C. or equivalent examination and whose results will be declared before the dates of Counseling, will also be eligible to appear at AIET 2007.

The address of the Examination Centre assigned to a candidate will be given in the Hall Ticket.No request for change of centre mentioned in the application form shall be entertained.

Hall Ticket

The Hall Ticket is very important .This will be issued based upon the Candidate’s submitting the form complete in all respects before the last date for submission of application form.

The Hall Tickets will be dispatched to the candidates by post under certificate of posting. The University will not be responsible for non-receipt of Hall Ticket in time due to postal delay. In case a candidate does not get the Hall Ticket by May 04, 2007 he/she should immediately contact Coordinator AIET 2007 by phone or fax.

Since the Hall Ticket is an important document, candidates must not tamper with the same or make any changes in the entries made by the Admission Committee. The Hall Ticket must be produced at the time of entering the Examination Hall at the centre and later, when necessary, and also at the time of counseling. The Hall Ticket is not transferable to any other person.

The Hall Ticket Numbers of the candidates along with the Name and address of the Examination Centre allotted to him will also be displayed on the website of the University. The candidates have to report for examination at the Examination Centre allotted to him.

Submission of the Application Form and Entrance Test Fee

The fee for the Entrance Test is Rs.1, 000/-. The fee is payable by demand draft drawn in favor of Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil University, on a nationalized /scheduled bank, payable at Navi Mumbai / Mumbai. The particulars of the draft must be filled in the body of the form as well in both parts of the separate sheet attached along with the form. The candidates should write their full name, address and application number on the back side of the demand draft.

The last date for receipt of completed application forms at the following address is up to 5.00 PM on 19th April 2007 and till 23rd April, 2007, up to 5.00 PM with late fee of Rs. 500/-.

It will be the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that his application form along with demand draft for fee and supporting documents reaches the office of the Coordinator of Admission Committee within the specified time and date. The applications received after the due date or not accompanied by the demand draft covering entrance fee shall be rejected and such candidates shall not be allowed to appear for the Entrance Test. The Admission Committee: AIET 2007 will not be responsible for non-receipt of the applications within the specified time and date due to postal or courier service delays.

Merit List

The results of the Entrance Test in the form of combined merit list for MBBS, BDS, B.A.M.S., B.P.Th., B.Tech (Cosmetics) and Diploma in GNM arranged according to the marks obtained by the candidates, will be declared by the Admission Committee at 4.30 PM on 12th June 2007. The list will carry the Hall Ticket Number, Rank and Marks of only those candidates who have secured 50 % and more marks (i.e.100 marks and above out of 200) at the AIET 2007. The AIET Mark-Statements will be sent to the candidates by post under certificate of posting.

Selection Process

Candidates who secure the minimum 50% marks at AIET 2007 and satisfy the eligibility norms laid down by respective councils shall be eligible for admission to MBBS / BDS / BAMS/ B.Tech(Cosmetics) / B.P.Th. / Diploma in GNM / B.Sc. Nursing courses and would be offered provisional admission to these courses on the basis of their inter-se-merit at the time of Counseling.

Tie-Breaker Rules

In case of equal marks at AIET 2007, the following procedure shall be adopted for determining inter-se-merit:

First Level: A candidate securing higher marks in Biology (or Botany & Zoology ) in the Entrance Test shall be preferred. If the tie still persists ,then
Second Level: A candidate securing higher marks Chemistry in the Entrance test shall be preferred. If the tie still persists, then
Third Level: A candidate securing higher marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at H.S.C. or equivalent examination shall be preferred, if the tie still persists, then
Fourth Level: An older candidate shall be preferred over a younger candidate.


The Counseling will be carried at Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College premises of the University. The AIET 2007 merit list shall be a list of the candidates who have secured the minimum of 50% marks in the entrance test. Mere inclusion of a candidate in the merit list would not entitle every candidate to present himself/herself for counseling. The counseling of the candidates short listed for counseling will be carried out according to the schedule given in Counseling Schedule.

Call Letters will not be sent to the candidates. The physical presence of the candidate at the counseling is essential. If a candidate is unable to present himself/herself for counseling on account of unavoidable circumstances , he/she may authorize another individual to represent him/her. The said representative must carry with him/her the authorization from the candidate in the format given in the prospectus(Annexure I), bring all the original documents for verification and pay the fees immediately if the candidate is found eligible and offered admission. Absence of the candidate/representative at the indicated time and date will result in instantaneous forfeiture of any claim for admission and the University will not be responsible for this.

Candidates will have to attend counseling according to the published merit list. At the counseling, the eligibility of the candidates for admission shall be verified from the original documents and those found eligible will be offered provisional admission. The admissions to various courses will be offered on the basis of inter-se-merit of the candidates.

Only the candidate and the authorized representative will be allowed in the Counseling Hall. Asking a candidate to report for counseling does not mean that he /she will be admitted to the courses. The actual admission will depend upon the number of seats available when his/her turn comes in order of his/her inter-se-merit. Candidates will have to report for counseling at their own cost.Candidates selected for admission will have to make payment of fees as mentioned in para 12C. ( Mode of Payment )

Commencement of Classes

The date of commencement of classes will be communicated to the candidates at the time of counseling. Candidates will be required to be present in the campus and report to the Dean/Principal of the College to which he/she is admitted for inaugural address so that they are aware of the various requirements, facilities, structures and organization of the College and the University.
