The Entrance Examinations for Admission to
B.E., /B.Sc., (Ag.) and B.Sc., (horti.) Programmes of Annamalai University for the year 2007-2008 are scheduled to be conducted by the University.

Appearing for the Entrance Examination is compulsory for candidates seeking Admission to these Programmes. These Entrance Examinations are for the Candidates of Tamil Nadu and for those who satisfy the Nativity/Domicile requirements specified by the University for Admission to these Programmes.

This Notification relates only to the entrance examinations candidates are advised to refer to separate Notification which will be issued during
third week of May 2007 by the University inviting applications for admission to the various Programmes.

Selection to various Programmes will be governed by the procedure laid down by the University.

Programmes Offered:

Engineering: B.E Civil / Civil & Structural / Mechanical / Manufacturing / Electrical & Electronics / Electronics & Instrumentation / Chemical Engineering / Computer Science & Engineering / Information Technology and Electronics & communication.

Agriculture: B.Sc. Agriculture / B.Sc., – Horticulture

General Instructions: Candidates who are appearing for Higher Secondary or Equivalent Qualifying Examinations during
Match-May 2007 and Candidates who have already passed H.Sc. or other Equivalent Qualifying Examinations are eligible to apply for these Entrance Examinations.

The Entrance Examinations will be conducted in the following Scheduled and Subject

Paper1: Biology (Botany & Zoology)
14.05.2007 (Forenoon)

Paper2: Physical Sciences (Physics & Chemistry)
14.05.2007 (Afternoon)

Paper3: Mathematics
15.05.2007 (Forenoon)

Questions for the above Examinations will be based only on the Syllabi and Text Books prescribed for the Second Year of the Tamil Nadu H.SC. (Academic Course)

Admissions will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the relevant Subjects in the Qualifying Examinations (H.SC. or Equivalent) and in the Entrance Examinations, with weithtage if marks 200 and 100 respectively.

The Tamil Nadu SC/ST Candidates desirous of obtaining the Application Forms at the concessional rates should submit a Certificate obtained from the Head of the Institution last studied/studying in the format given below:

Application forms can be obtained in person by cash payment at the University Cash Counter on all working Days. (Holidays: All Saturday, Sunday and other Government Holidays)

To get Application forms by Post the candidates should send a requisition letter along with a Demand Draft for Rs.400/- (Expect SC/ST candidates) For SC/ST candidates they have a send a requisition letter along with a Demand Draft for Rs.200/- along with a Certificate as specified above. The demand draft should drawn in a favour of the registrar, Annamalai university annamalainagar 608 002 obtained on or after
09.04.2007. from any bank payable at Chennai and a self-addressed Kraft envelop of size 35cm ´ 15cm with stamps affixed to the value of Rs.15/-

Candidates are advised to write their Name and Address on the reverse side of the demand draft.

Applications forms will be sent only by ordinary post and the university will not be held responsible for non-receipt of Applications forms.


Please quote the reference number of the notification in the top of the request letter without fail.
