THE MASTER OF MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME (2006-2008)
SHAILESH J. MEHTA SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT
Since its establishment in 1995, the Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM) has emerged as one of the leading business schools in country. The School has been generously supported by ICICI, HILL, L&T, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Hindi Vidya Bhavan And Dr. Shailesh J Mehta, who is a distinguished alumnus of IIT-Bombay, and in whose honor the School has been named. At present, the School offers a Ph.D. Programme in Management and a Master of Management Programme, and is poised to diversify its academic programmes. Students have access to state-of the-art academic and residential ingrascture, computing facilities and information resources.
MASTER OF MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME
The School offers a full-time, residential, two-year programme leading to the Master of Management (M Mgt) degree. The curriculum of this programme has been restructured with effect from current academic year so as to give wider coverage to specialized/elective courses in diverse areas of management. Unique features of the programme include significant emphasis on teamwork and interactive classroom participation. Interested students can opt for a final project. The School provides campus placement service. Endowment scholarships are awarded on merit basis.
A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering with First Class or a Postgraduate degree in Science with First Class. While work experience is desirable, candidates without work experience can apply. Candidates appearing for the final degree examination can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provided they complete all requirements for the qualifying degree at the time of joining the course.
Candidates applying for the Master of Management Programme are required to appear for the Joint Management Entrance Test 2006 (JMET 2006) to be conducted on Sunday December 11, 2005. For information about JMET 2006, refer to the advertisement that appeared in all leading newspapers on Sunday, August 28 2005. International candidates may submit their GMAT score in lieu of you JMET (use the URL:
http://www.litb.ac.in/pgprgm.html for more details at IIT Bombay). Short-listed applicants will be invited for a group discussion and personal interview to be held at SJMSOM in the last week of February 2006.
The SJMSOM application form can be downloaded from School’s website from December 20, 2005. The last date for receiving the completed application is January 23,2006.
The School offers a PH.D. Programme in Management, details of which will be provided on request.
