Jawaharlal Nehru University invites application from Candidates for the admission of following programs for the academic year 2021

CEEB Admission Eligibility 2021
M.Sc ( Biotechnology )
- Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree with Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary and Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering / Technology, 4 years B.Sc. with Physician Assistant programme, or Medicine ( MBBS ) or BDS with at least 55% marks.
- Candidates appearing for the respective qualifying exams as eligibility for admission will also be considered for appearing in the entrance examination.
- Such candidates will be allowed to appear at the entrance examination on the clear condition that in the event of their selection, they will be entitled to admission only if they obtain the minimum prescribed percentage of marks in their qualifying degree examination and that they submit all the relevant documents including final mark-sheet of the qualifying examination before the last date for admission fixed by the concerned participating University.
M.Sc.( Agri. ) Biotechnology & M.V.Sc. Programmes
- Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 / 4 / 5 pattern of education with 55% minimum marks or any equivalent examination from any recognised university / institute in any discipline.
M.Tech ( Biotechnology )
- Candidate should have minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA from any recognised university in any one of the following: B.Tech / B.E. in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Industrial Biotechnology, Leather Technology, Chemistry / Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Technology, B. Pharma, or M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biophysics, Microbial Genetics and Bioinformatics.
CEEB Admission Exam Pattern 2021
M.Sc.( Agri. ) Biotechnology & M.V.Sc. Programmes:
- The question paper for the entrance examination will be of 3 hours duration and will have two parts.
Part A
- There is 60 multiple choice type ( MCQs ) questions at the level of 10+2 in the subjects
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
- Biology
- The total marks for Part A will be 60 marks.
- Every correct answer will be awarded 1 mark.
- There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer, the ½ mark will be deducted.
Part B
- There will be 100 multiple choice questions out of which the candidates will have to attempt 60 questions.
- The total marks for Part B will be 180 Marks.
- Every correct answer will be awarded 3 marks.
- There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted.
M.Sc. Biotechnology Programme
- The question paper for the Entrance Examination will be of 3 hours duration and divided into two parts.
Part-A
- There are 60 multiple choice type questions at the level of 10+2 in the subjects:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
- Biology
- The total marks for Part A will be 60 marks.
- Every correct answer will be awarded as 1 marks.
- There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer, the ½ mark will be deducted.
Part-B
- There are 60 multiple-choice questions at the Graduation level requiring thinking and analysis.
- There will be questions from
- Physics
- Mathematics
- Biology ( e.g., Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics and Molecular Biology )
- Chemistry
- The total marks for Part B will be 180 Marks.
- Every correct answer will be awarded 3 marks.
- There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted.
For M.Tech. Biotechnology Programme:
- The question paper will be of 3 hours duration consisting of two programmes:
- Technology / Engineering Programmes and
- Life Sciences Programme

- Combined Biotechnology Entrance Examination admission application form will be available at website : www.jnu.ac.in.
- Application registration fee ₹ 1000/- for General / OBC candidates and ₹ 500/- for SC / ST / PWD candidates.
- The following documents are to be submitted at the time of admission :
- Two self attested copies of the Matriculation, Higher Secondary, Pre-University of Indian School Certificate or Senior School Certificate ( 10+2 ) or an equivalent examination certificate, showing the age / date of birth of the candidate
- A Character Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended
- Two self attested copies of the statement of marks obtained by the candidate in Senior School, Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree examination etc; or their equivalent examination
- Two self attested copies of the Bachelor’s Degree and / Master’s Degree
- SC / ST / OBC Certificate, if belonging to SC / ST / OBC category.
- A Medical Certificate for PWD Candidates; certifying that the disability is not less than 40%.
- Migration Certificate ( in original ) from the Head of the Institution / University last attended.
CEEB Admission Admit Card 2021
- CEEB 2021 admit cards will be available tentatively from 1st week of December, 2021. Candidates can download once it is available in the website.
- The applicants need to print the admit cards and produce it during the day of the exam, along with 2 copies of the photo.
- Admit cards won’t be sent as a hard copy by mail, but a notification of the availability shall be intimidated via email provided by the applicant.
CEEB Admission Selection Procedure 2021
- The selection will depend strictly on the inter- se merit of the candidate in the Entrance Examination vis-a-vis preferences for joining the Universities indicated by the candidate.

CEEB Admission Results 2021
- CEEB 2021 Result will be released in the month of March for the entrance examination that will be organised in the last week of December, 2020. The result can be checked online on the official website of JNU.
- The cut-off marks will be determined after the announcement of result. The merit list will be prepared based on the secured rank of the candidate. The counselling for JNU CEEB will start post declaration of the merit list. The shortlisted candidates will have to mark their preferred colleges by visiting the JNU official website.
CEEB Admission Counselling 2021
- An online counselling OF CEEB 2021 will tentatively be conducted in April, 2021. Admission will be via centralized counselling or as per the admission notification of respective state government.
- The candidates will be allotted college, according to their rank in the merit list. The same merit list will be sent to various management colleges for the allotment of seats through the central counselling.
