Eligibility for Competence in Software Technology Examination (CST) 2008
Eligibility Criteria for E & I Levels:
The candidate must meet any one of the following eligibility criteria:
1. A Bachelor's degree in any subject.
2. A diploma in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years’ study after the 10th standard or 2 years’ after the 12th standard. The diploma should be recognised by a state government or the central government as an engineering diploma.
3. Other qualifications recognised by a state government or the central government as equivalent to a Bachelor's degree. In such cases, the candidate should produce proof of Government recognition.
Eligibility Criteria for D Level
The candidate must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
1. B.Sc. in Computer Science or any equivalent Bachelor’s degree in the Computer/IT areas.Bachelor's degree in any subject and at least 6 months’ part-time training in software technology, comprising a minimum of 15 hours of work per week, covering basic computer concepts and computer programming in the C language.
2. Bachelor's degree in any subject with at least 3 months’ full-time training in software technology, comprising a minimum of 30 hours of work per week, covering basic computer concepts and computer programming in the C language.
3. Graduates in any subject who have undertaken courses on computers, equivalent to the training in software technology requirement as mentioned in (c) above, as a part of their degree requirements. Candidates are required to produce attested mark lists as a proof that they have done at least a one-semester computer course.
4. Candidates who have completed a 3-year, full-time Diploma course in Computer Science or Computer Engineering after the 10th standard. This diploma should be recognised by a state government or the central government as an engineering diploma.
Eligibility Criteria for G Level
The candidate must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
1. Four year Bachelor’s OR Higher Degree in Engineering in RELEVANT STREAM*
2. MCA, M.Sc. (Comp Science.), M.Sc. (IT), MCS, MCM in RELEVANT STREAM*
3. PGDST or FPGDST or APGDST from C-DAC, Mumbai or Electronics City, Bangalore.
Any degree equivalent to a BE in Computer Science or IT
Note: Any software course of less than 1 year of full-time study or any software course done in parallel with undergraduate studies will not be considered as equivalent qualification for appearing for the G level.
Application Forms & Submission of CAT 2008
Form A-1 should be filled by those candidates who wish to appear for the CST-2008 examination for the first time or for those seeking improvement of earlier CST scores by taking the entire examination once again.
Form A-2 should be filled by candidates who do not wish to appear for the current CST-2008 examination but would like to be considered for courses based on their CST-2007 score.This option may not be available for next year.

Submission of Application
Online Mode
Candidates are advised to use on-line mode of application as this will give the candidate a chance to verify the contents filled in by him/her, provide registration number immediately and also provide Hall ticket.
Use manual form-filling and submission only when you do not have access to internet.
C-DAC locations at Juhu-Mumbai, Kharghar-Navi Mumbai and Electronics City-Bangalore provide the web kiosk facility to apply online.
The application form is available online at
http://cst.cdacmumbai.in. Candidates must fill up all the fields online. On submission of the form in online mode, a Registration number will be assigned to the applicant by the system.
The applicant must write the level of examination they are appearing for, his/her name and the registration number on the reverse of the Demand Draft. The Demand draft along with three passport-size photographs should be sent so as to reach C-DAC Mumbai before the last date. Candidates must write the name on the backside of each copy of the photograph.
Manual Mode
Candidates who are unable to apply online through the website, can fill in the A-1 form manually (either from the CST-2008 brochure or the PDF version downloaded from the site) and submit it to C-DAC, Juhu, Mumbai with 3 photographs and requisite fees by Demand Draft as specified in the A-1 form in this brochure.
Submission of Completed Forms
The last date of receiving all application forms is
January 10, 2008.
