DOEACC Society is implementing a joint Scheme of All India Council for Technical Education and Department of Information Technology (formerly Department of Electronics (DOE)), Government of India. The Society was formed on the 9th November 1994 and is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The management and administration of the Society is overseen by Governing Council, under the chairmanship of the Minister of State, Communications & Information Technology, Government of India. Members of the Council consist of eminent academia from IITs, Universities, etc. and professionals from the industry.

Examinations
Examinations are conducted twice a year in January and July for all the level of courses, namely `O’/`A’/`B’/`C’ on All India basis in about 106 centres. The total number of papers, for all the Levels, to be set for the examination is 148. The number of paper/module candidates for the last examination (July 2003) was about 1,94,275. The examinations are managed by a Board of Examinations consisting of academia and professionals. As on 1st January 2004, a total of 42,080 candidates have been issued certificates so far out of the 69,055 candidates who have qualified all the theory papers at the respective levels.
Syllabus
Syllabus for different levels are designed and finalized by a Syllabus Committee for each Level, consisting of academicians and professionals in the computer field including representatives from the IT industry. Syllabi are updated at reasonable intervals to meet the requirements of industry. Teaching for Third Revised syllabus in respect of DOEACC ‘O’ and ‘A’ level courses has commenced from January 2003 and the first examination was conducted in July, 2003 and in respect of ‘B’ and ‘C’ Level courses has commenced from July 2003 and first examination held in January 2004. The revised syllabi have been designed to facilitate students in the development of concept-based approach for problem solving using IT as a tool. The self-learning approach is built into the syllabus, thereby training the candidates to update themselves on the changing technologies in their area of work. Salient features of the revised version include:
- Introduction of practical examinations for the first time
- Introduction of credit scheme to facilitate other academic organizations/ universities in India and abroad for determining the academic professional equivalence and
- Inclusion of Free domain Software in the curricula.
Eligibility Criteria
The basic entry level is a 10+2 or 10+ ITI qualifications. There is also a provision for horizontal entry at higher levels for students and professionals with university degree qualifications. Depending on the educational qualifications, a student can select one of the four levels of O/A/B/C. The detailed eligibility criteria for individual levels is as under:

polytechnic engineering diploma after class 10. Followed in each case, by an accredited ‘A’ Level course (no concurrency). Or A Government recognised polytechnic engineering diploma after 10+2/ Graduate and an accredited ‘A’ Level course in each case (May be concurrent). Even after clearing ‘A’ Level the diploma will be awarded only after successful completion of the academic stream i.e. polytechnic engineering diploma after 10+2 or degree. |

Candidates having Government recognised PPDCA/Government recognised PGDCA will also be eligible for exemption of some subjects depending on the courses they had undergone, on a case by case basis). |
Level ‘A’/Government recognised
PPDCA/Government recognised PGDCA, followed in each case, by two years relevant experience. (First two semesters are exempted for those who pass ‘A’ level in full. Candidates having Government recognised PPDCA/Government recognised PGDCA will also be eligible for exemption of some subjects depending on the courses, they hadundergone, on a case by case basis). Graduate/Government recognised polytechnic engineering diploma, followed in each case by three years relevant experience. ‘C’ | Level ‘B’/B. Tech/BE/MCA/MSc/Master’s
Degree in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Operations Research/MBA (or equivalent) with B.Sc. / B.A. (Mathematics/Statistics). GATE (Computer), followed in each case, by an accredited ‘C’ Level course. |
Level ‘B’/B Tech/BE/MCA/MSc/Master’s
Degree in Mathematics Statistics/ Operations Research/MBA (or equivalent) with BSc/BA (Mathematics/statistics), GATE (Computer), followed in each case, by one and half year relevant experience. Relevant experience connotes job experience in IT, including teaching in a recongnised institution as a faculty member, excludes coaching. |

Attention ‘O’ & ‘A’ Level Candidates
The Question papers of January 2005, July 2005 and January 2006 Examinations along with answers are available with DOEACC Headquarter at New Delhi in the form of a booklet for each examination for ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level separately. These booklets can be obtained from this office by Remitting a sum of Rs. 100/- for ‘O’ Level and Rs. 150/- per booklet for ‘A’ Level through Demand Draft drawn on any Nationalized Bank favoring DOEACC, payable at New Delhi.

1. The filled-in Examination Application Forms should be sent by Registered/Speed Post only in the special envelope attached with Examination Application Form.DOEACC Society will not be responsible for any postal delay/loss.Institutes authorized to conduct DOEACC Accredited Courses and the candidates should ensure that filled in Examination Application Forms along with requisite fees & all other necessary documents reach at this SOCIETY at New Delhi by date and time specified above. No Examination Form will be accepted after the closing date & time in any circumstances.Incomplete application forms or with insufficient fees will not be entertained under any circumstances and no correspondence whatsoever shall be entertained in this regard.

2. Registration is pre-requisite for appearing in DOEACC Examination.Candidate should keep this in mind while requesting for Exam Application Forms.Examination Forms for any Level (O, A, B & C) can be obtained on written request by candidates to DOEACC SOCIETY, New Delhi, by sending sum of 25/- per Examination Application Forms through a Demand draft in Favor of “DOEACC” payable at New Delhi.The request should be addressed to DOEACC SOCIETY and should clearly specify the level, complete address of applicant on which the blank examination form is to be sent. The envelope be superscribed as “Request for Examination Forms”. Examination Forms can also be collected in person against DD for the appropriate amount in favour of ‘DOEACC’ payable at NEW DELHI ONLY from DOEACC Society Counselling/selling centres, the addresses of which are given in DOEACC website
