JAM-2008 qualified candidates shall have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria for admissions in IITs.
At least 55% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, ail years combined) for General Category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for SC / ST and PD Category candidates in the qualifying degree.
For candidates with letter grades / CGPA (instead of percentage of marks) the equivalent percentage of marks will be decided by the admitting institute(s).
Candidates who are due to appear in the final examination of the qualifying degree (or equivalent) are also eligible to appear in JAM-2008.
Note: JAM- lmplementation Committee may add and / or drop any test city / town at its discretion.
There are two processes by which a candidate can apply / register for JAM-2008, namely Offline and Online. The application fees for the same are given below.
For Offline application, the Application Forms along with Information Brochures can be obtained on cash payment from the designated branches of State Bank of India during
November 12, 2007 to January 4, 2008.
The application material can also be obtained by post from the JAM office of IIT Kanpur by sending a request along with a self-addressed slip and a crossed Demand Draft, which must reach, JAM Office of IIT Kanpur, latest by
December 26, 2007.
The application material will be sent by Registered Post. Candidates can also register Online at the website:

November 12, 2007 to January 7, 2008 and send the completed Registration Form along with the Demand Draft. All demand drafts with appropriate fees have to be drawn in favour of "Organising Chairman, JAM-2008", payable at SBI, IIT Kanpur (Branch Code: 1161).

The completed Application Form / Online Registration Form with necessary enclosures must reach the
Joint Admission Procedure: Admission to the above mentioned academic programmes in IITs for the academic session 2008-2009 will be made on the basis of All India Merit List at JAM-2008. Candidates who qualify in any Test Paper shall be eligible to apply for admission to all the academic programs corresponding to that Test Paper, provided they also satisfy the minimum educational qualifications and the essential eligibility requirements, as specified by the Institute(s) in which the admission is sought.
After the declaration of JAM-2008 results, qualified candidates shall be required to apply on presented Admission Form listing all the programs, for which the admission is sought, to the Organising Institute (IIT Kanpur). Candidates should note that being in the merit list of any Test Paper neither guarantees nor provides any automatic entitlement for admission.
