National Board of Examination invites application form for NBE FMGE Screening Test for Indian Nationals with Foreign Medical Qualifications March 2013. The NBE FMGE screening test is held twice a year at New Delhi.

NBE FMGE 2013 Eligibility
The Applicant must meet / fulfill the following criteria :
a) He / She is a citizen of India or Overseas Citizen of India.
b) The candidate should possess any primary medical qualification, which is confirmed by the Indian Embassy concerned, to be a recognized qualification for enrolment as medical practitioner in the country in which the institution awarding the said qualification is situated.
c) The candidate should have studied for the medical course at the same institute located abroad for the entire duration of the course from where he / she has obtained the degree.
d) He / She had obtained ‘Eligibility Certificate’ from the Medical Council of India ( applicable only in respect to students who took admission abroad on or after 15.03.2002 ). This requirement shall not be necessary in respect of Indian citizens or overseas citizens of India who have obtained admission in foreign medical institute before 15th March, 2002.
e) All students who have taken admission abroad prior to 15.03.2002 and are required to qualify the Screening Test for their registration, shall be allowed to appear in the Screening Test even if they do not meet the minimum admission norms of MCI for joining undergraduate medical course, subjected to the compliance of the Judgment ( s ) of the Hon’ble Supreme Court / Competent Courts in this regard including but not limited to judgment dated 8th March, 2002 in Civil Appeal No. 2779 of 2000 & other judgments.
f) From 15.03.2002 and onwards all students are required to obtain an Eligibility Certificate from MCI before proceeding abroad for studies in Medicine.
g) Applicants / Candidates may also refer to Screening Test Regulations and Regulations on Graduate Medical Education, Eligibility Certificate Regulations issued by Medical Council of India. The same may be referred to at www.mciindia.org or obtained from the following :

h) Cut – off date for obtaining the Primary Medical Qualification shall be before the conduct of exam i.e. before 31st March, 2013. It is mandatory to provide proof / documentary evidence in support of the candidate having passed final examination for such a primary medical qualification / posses the primary medical qualification on or before the cut – off date. In the event of the date of issue of result / proof of primary medical qualification being after the prescribed cut off date, the application forms shall be rejected and candidate declared as ineligible.
Candidate seeking provisional or permanent registration shall not have to qualify the Screening Test if he / she holds an Under Graduate medical qualification from Australia / Canada / New Zealand / United Kingdom / United States of America and the holder thereof also been awarded a Post Graduate medical qualification in Australia / Canada / New Zealand / United Kingdom / United States of America and has been recognized for enrolment as medical practitioner in that country.
NBE FMGE 2013 Exam Pattern
- The NBE FMGE entrance test is conducted in English language.
- The NBE FMGE entrance test consists of one paper.
- There are 300 multiple – choice questions ( MCQ ) of single response type in the paper.
- There is NO negative marking.
- An applicant shall be declared as having passed only if he / she obtains a minimum of 150 marks out of 300 in the examination.
NBE FMGE 2013 Exam Centre
a) The NBE FMGE 2013 exam shall be held on 31st March, 2013 at New Delhi.
b) Timing of the NBE FMGE 2013 exam are:
- Forenoon / Ist Session : 10:30 AM to 01:00 PM
- Afternoon / IInd Session : 01:30 PM to 04:00 PM
c) Reporting Time for candidates is 09:00 AM.
d) The Exact venue at New Delhi Shall be notified in the NBE FGME 2013 Admit Card.
e) Applicants are to make own arrangements for Travel / lodging etc.
f) All candidates ( Except candidates who have obtained primary Medical Qualification from Nepal ) are required to bring their Passport as proof of Identity at the NBE FMGE 2013 exam center. Candidates may not be allowed to appear in exam if they are unable to produce original passport. Candidates obtaining Primary Medical Qualification from Nepal are required to bring a valid ID Proof ( Passport / Voter ID / Pan Card / Aadhaar Card ) along with the admit card.
g) Candidates are informed that ( due to security reasons ) they may not be allowed to leave the NBE FMGE 2013 exam center from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM.
NBE FMGE Screening Test Fee 2013 :
Candidates are required to submit the following FMGE Fees :
a) NBE FMGE 2013 Examination Fee – 
3500/- ( Three Thousand Five Hundred )
b) NBE FMGE 2013 Application Form Fee ( to be submitted by candidates using internet downloaded forms ) – 750/- ( Seven Hundred Fifty only )
c) Late Fee – To be submitted by candidates submitting their application form after the cut off date but before the cut off date with late fee as prescribed in this Information Bulletin – 1500/- ( One Thousand & Five Hundred only )
Deposition of Fees :
By Cash Deposit in the Bank.
The fee as above can be deposited at any branch of the (i) Indian Bank or (ii) Axis Bank; The list of branches of Axis Bank and Indian Bank can be seen at their website www.axisbank.com and www.indianbank.in respectively. Kindly use the pay – in – slip provided along with this Information Bulletin for this purpose. Pay – in – slip can also be downloaded from NBE Website www.natboard.edu.in. NBE copy of pay – in – slip is required to be submitted in original along with NBE FMGE 2013 application form.
Kindly Note :
- Fee submitted through demand draft shall not be accepted. There is no fee deposit counter at NBE Office.
- Candidates remaining absent from the examination will forfeit their examination fee. Candidates are advised to read the rule position carefully and satisfy the terms and conditions for fulfillment of eligibility criteria. Fees shall neither be refunded nor carried forward if the application for FMGE is rejected / candidature is found to be ineligible or candidate does not appear in examination.
