TNPSC Departmental Examinations December - 2008
The next Departmental Examinations for Government Servants will be held from Tuesday the 23rd December 2008 to Wednesday the 31st December 2008 [Except 25-12-2008 Thursday (Christmas)].
Detailed particulars and form of application can be obtained from the Secretary, Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, Omanthoorar Government Estate, Chennai - 600 002 on requisition in writing either in English or in Tamil specifying "Requisition for the application form for the Departmemtal Examinations - December - 2008" and enclosing a crossed Indian Postal Order or crossed Account Payee Demand Draft to the value of Rs.30/- (Rupees Thirty Only) obtained on or after 01-09-2008 and a self addressed envelope (30 cm x 12 cm) affixed with postage stamp for Rs.15/-.
The Indian Postal Order should be payable to the Secretary, Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, Chennai - 600 002 at the Anna Salai Head Post Office, Chennai - 600 002 and the crossed Account Payee Demand Draft should be payable to the following address at the State Bank of India, Service Branch (Code 8443), Chennai.

The application forms can also be obtained in person from the sales counter of the office of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, Omanthoorar Government Estate, Anna Salai, Chennai - 600 002 till 5 P.M. on the closing date with lunch interval, between 1-30 and 2-00 p.m. on payment of Rs.30/- (Rupees Thirty Only) in cash.
Candidates are requested to send only one requisition for getting the application form, even though they wish to apply for one or more tests. Any requisition without the Indian Postal Order or Demand Draft and self addressed and stamped envelope, will not be complied with. Requisitions received by post put 29-09-2008 5-45 P.M. along will be complied with.
However, application forms can be obtained in person from the Commission's Office till the closing date. Application forms printed and supplied by the Commission (in single sheet) from the year 2005 alone should be used for this examination. Xerox copy of Application forms will not be accepted.
Such applications will be rejected even if the cost of application and the examination fees are enclosed.
Candidates can avail themselves of the facility of applying Online on the Commission's
Website: www.tnpsc.gov.in with Cost of Application Rs.30/-and Examination Fee of Rs.50/- for each test.
Candidates who are unable to avail of the above facility can apply in the form obtained from the commission's office on payment of requisite application fee of Rs.30/- in the form of I.P.O. or in the form of a crossed account payee demand Draft as referred to above.
Examination /application fee. candidates should make sure that he has acquired the Demand Draft or Indian Postal Orders or Postal Receipts* obtained from anyone of the post offices listed in Annexure-ll to the Commission's Notification for the requisite number of tests that he is applying for, before registering online.
Candidates should check up the correctness of the particulars in the Postal Receipts enclosed with their applications. If the Postal Receipts* sent by them are found defective or invalid their applications will run the risk of being rejected. the postal receipts should have been obtained on or after the date on which the advertisement notifying the departmental examination, december-2008 is published in the dailies.

The candidates can register their particulars online till 5.45pm. On 3-10-2008 in the printout generated from the website they should sign both in the Application and identification certificate and should send their signed application along with the enclosures (including DD/ I.P.O./ Postal Receipts* to the commission's office before 06-10-2008 5-45 p.m.
The Postal Receipts obtained for the payment of cost of application/ examination fee should be pasted in the space provided in the application.
The Candidates opting to apply online shall also abide by the commission's instruction laid down in this notification.
Not applicable to New Delhi candidates.
The last date for the receipt of applications in the Commission's Office is 06-10-2008.
The results of the Departmental Examinations held in May, 2008 will be published in the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Bulletins dated 7-8-2008 and 16-8-2008.
The copies of the said Bulletins will be sent to all the District Collectors and Tahsildars. The candidates may verify their results from the Collectorates/Taluk Offices.
The results can also be accessed at the Commission's website: www.tnpsc.gov.in which will be periodically updated.
Note: This is not an advertisement for fresh recruitment to government service or for regularising the services of the persons holding temporary appointments.
However, this examination is open to all persons who have completed the age of 16 years on the date of commission's notification, (viz 21-08-2008) whether they are in government service or not.
