The Tata Institute of Social Sciences announces admission to B.A. Hons in Social Work with Specialisation in Rural Development 2010 - 2013.
This job - oriented professional program is offered by the School of Rural Development located at Tuljapur (near Solapur, Maharashtra).
TISS 2010 Entrance Examination will be conducted on 18th April, 2010 Sunday (11.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M.).
TISS 2010 Eligibility :
12th Standard (or equivalent) in any stream with minimum average of 50% marks (40% for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) and 45% for Kashmiri Migrants).
Candidates awaiting results can also apply.

I. TISS 2010 Eligibility to Apply :
The applicants who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, 10+2 or its equivalent (HSC / PUC / Pre - Degree) course with minimum aggregate Marks of 50% for General, OBC and Minority Students (40% for SCs / STs) are eligible to apply to the Bachelor's Degree Program.
The candidates should produce all the relevant documents in original at the time of admission preliminaries.
The applicants who have appeared in their Higher Secondary Examination, 10+2 or its equivalent (HSC / PUC / Pre - Degree) and are awaiting their results will also be eligible to apply.
In such cases, admission to the Bachelor's Degree Program of the SRD shall be provisional. If a provisionally admitted student fails in the Higher Secondary Examination, 10+2 or its equivalent (HSC / PUC / Pre - Degree) course or secures less than required Marks, as mentioned above, the offer of provisional admission will be automatically cancelled.
II. Instructions for Determining TISS 2010 Eligibility to Apply :
Round off the Marks for calculating the overall average percentage of Marks is not allowed.
Candidates, whose Marks are in grades or grade points, must convert the grades or grade points into Marks and write those Marks in the appropriate column (s) in the TISS 2010 Application Form, provided along with this TISS 2010 Information Brochure. Otherwise, the TISS 2010 application will be treated as incomplete and rejected.
TISS 2010 Eligibility, once determined on the basis of the information given by the candidate in the TISS 2010 Application Form, shall be final for the purpose of Written Test / Group Discussion and Interview / Selection. However, in case it is found that the information furnished by a candidate is incorrect or misleading or ineligibility being detected before or after the TISS 2010 Written Test / Group Discussion and Interview / Selection / Admission, his / her candidature will be cancelled without giving reasons thereof. If a provisionally admitted student fails in the Higher Secondary Examination, 10+2 or its equivalent (HSC / PUC / Pre - Degree) course and even if he / she has applied for re - evaluation at the board / junior college, he / she will still not be allowed to continue the Program as the offer of provisional admission stands automatically cancelled on his / her failure in the final Year examination.
Candidates who have been declared as failed in their final Higher Secondary Examination, 10+2 or its equivalent (HSC / PUC / Pre - Degree) course are not eligible to apply for the Bachelor's Degree Program of the TISS Institute.
Application form TISS 2010 fee will not be refunded in any circumstances.
Candidates not fulfilling the minimum requirement of percentage of Marks as specified earlier are not eligible to apply. If they apply, the cost of TISS 2010 Application Form and processing TISS 2010 fees will not be refunded.
III. TISS 2010 Reservation of Seats :
The TISS is an equal opportunity institution, and there is no discrimination on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender, marital status, age or physical disability.
As per Government of India directives, there is reservation for the following Groups :
15% Seats are reserved for candidates who belong to the SCs, 7.5% for STs and 27% Seats are reserved for OBC (Non - Creamy Layers).
3% of Seats are reserved for the persons with disability (PWD) of which 1% each is reserved for (a) Low Vision / Blindness, (b) Hearing Impairment, and (c) Locomotor Disability / Cerebral Palsy.
GoI norms will be applicable for Kashmiri Migrant candidates in respect of TISS 2010 admission only.
