University of Delhi MSc Admission Eligibility 2019

MSc Environmental Studies

  • Any undergraduate B.Sc. / B.A. Sc. ( Hons. ) / B.Sc. Programme/ B.Sc. General ( 3 Year Course after 10+2 ) from University of Delhi or any other University whose examination is recognized as equivalent fulfilling other conditions of eligibility, but having at least one of these subjects Physics / Chemistry / Biology / Maths at 10+2 Level ( 55% or above marks in aggregate or equivalent grade ).
  • B.Tech. / B.E. Degree from any University / Institution recognized by UGC / AICTE ( 55% or above marks in aggregate or equivalent grade ).

M.Sc. Mathematics

  • Entrance Category : Bachelor degree in any subject and has studied at least 3 courses each of one year duration or 6 courses each of one semester duration in Mathematics. 50% marks in aggregate for General, 45% marks for OBC and 40% marks for SC/ST categories or equivalent CGPA.
  • Merit Category : B.A. ( Hons ) /B.Sc. ( Hons ) Examination in Mathematics of University of Delhi. 60% marks in aggregate for General, 54% marks for OBC and 40% marks for SC / ST categories or equivalent CGPA.

M.Sc. Statistics

  • Entrance Category : Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics ( Hons. ) or Computer Science ( Hons. ) with at least one paper in Statistics under 10+2+3 scheme of examination of the University of Delhi or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto 50% marks in aggregate and 60% marks in a paper of statistics or equivalent CGPA.
  • Merit Category : B.A. / B.Sc. ( Hons. ) Examination in Statistics of University of Delhi under 10+2+3 scheme of examination ( 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA. ).

M.Sc. Anthropology

  • Entrance Category : B.Sc. ( Hons. ) Anthropology ( 3 Years Course after ( 10+2 ) from University of Delhi or any other University whose examination is recognized by the University of Delhi as equivalent and fulfilling other conditions of eligibility.
  • B.Sc. / B.A. in Anthropology from any other University whose examination is recognized by the University of Delhi as equivalent and fulfilling other conditions of eligibility.
  • B.Sc. ( Hons. ) / B.Sc. ( General ) B.A. ( Hons. ) / B.A. ( Pass ) with Anthropology as one of the subjects from any other University whose examination is recognized by the University of Delhi as equivalent and fulfilling other conditions of eligibility.
  • B.Sc. ( Hons. ) in Botany / Zoology / Geology or B.A. ( Hons. ) in Sociology / Psychology / Social Work / B.Sc. in any branch of Science from University of Delhi or any other University whose examination is recognized by the University of Delhi as equivalent and fulfilling other conditions of eligibility.
  • 55% or above marks in aggregate or equivalent grade.
  • Merit Category : B.Sc. ( Hons. ) Anthropology ( 3 Years Course after 10+2 ) from Delhi University only.
  • 60% or above marks in the aggregate or equivalent grade.

M.Sc. Biochemistry

  • Entrance Category : B.Sc. ( general ) or B.Sc. ( Hons. ) or an equivalent undergraduate degree in any branch of life sciences ( 60% or above marks in qualifying exam or equivalent grade ).
  • Merit Category : B.Sc. ( Hons. ) in Biochemistry from the University of Delhi after ( 10+2+3 ). 60% or above marks in qualifying exam or equivalent grade.

M.Sc. Botany

  • Entrance Category : B.Sc. ( Hons. ) Botany / B.Sc. ( Hons. ) Biological Sciences ( 3 Years Courses after 10+2 ) from University of Delhi or any other University whose examination is recognized as equivalent to University of Delhi fulfilling other conditions of eligibility.
  • B.Sc. Programme Life Science / B.Sc. ( Genl ./ Prog ) / B.Sc. ( Pass ) / B.Sc. Life Science ( 3 Years course after 10+2 ) from University of Delhi or any other University whose examination is recognized as equivalent to University of Delhi fulfilling other conditions of eligibility.
  • 55% or above marks in aggregate or equivalent grade.
  • Merit Category : B.Sc. ( Hons. ) Botany / B.Sc. ( Hons. ) Biological Sciences ( 3 Years Course after 10+2 ) from University of Delhi only. ( 60% or above marks in aggregate or equivalent grade ).

M.Sc. Chemistry

  • Entrance Category : B.Sc. ( Hons. ) Chemistry ( 3 Years Course after 10+2 ) from University of Delhi or any other University whose examination is recognized as equivalent to University of Delhi fulfilling other conditions of eligibility. Candidate must have passed 10+2 ( Senior Secondary ) or equivalent examination recognized by the University of Delhi with Mathematics as one of the regular subjects and B.Sc. ( Hons. ) Chemistry examination with at least two papers of Mathematics.
  • B.Sc. ( Genl. ) / B.Sc. ( Pass ) / B.Sc. ( Prog. ) ( 3 years course after 10+2 ) from University of Delhi or any other University whose examinations are recognized as equivalent to Delhi University fulfilling other conditions of eligibility.
    Candidate must have passed 10+2 ( Senior Secondary ) or equivalent examination recognized by the University of Delhi with Mathematics as one of the regular subjects and B.Sc. ( Genl. ) / B.Sc. ( Prog. ) / B.Sc. Pass examination with at least two papers of Mathematics.
  • 55% or above marks in aggregate or equivalent grade.
  • Merit Category : B.Sc. ( Hons. ) Chemistry from University of Delhi only with at least two papers of Mathematics ( 60% or above marks in aggregate or equivalent grade ).

M.Sc. Computer Science

  • Entrance Category : B.Sc. ( Honours ) Computer Science ( 10+2+3 scheme ) and B.Tech. Computer Science (10+2+4 scheme) from University of Delhi or any other University whose examination is recognized as equivalent to that of University of Delhi. ( 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent of CGPA as per University norms wherever it is applicable ).
  • B.Sc. Program / B.Sc. Applied Physical Sciences with Mathematics and Computer Science / B.Sc. ( General ) Mathematical Sciences, ( 10+2+3 scheme ) with Mathematics and Computer Science from University of Delhi or any other University whose examination is recognized as equivalent to that of University of Delhi. ( 60% marks in aggregate with 60% marks in Computer Science and Mathematics separately or equivalent of CGPA as per University norms wherever it is applicable ).
  • Any Bachelor’s Degree ( 10+2+3 ) of University of Delhi with at least six papers in Computer Science and two papers in Mathematics under Semester system / at least three papers in Computer Science and one paper in Mathematics under Annual Examination System or any other University whose examination is recognized as equivalent to that of University of Delhi. ( 60% marks in aggregate with 60% marks in Computer Science and Mathematics separately or equivalent of CGPA as per University norms wherever it is applicable ).
  • Merit Category : B.Sc. ( H ) Computer Science ( 10+2+3 Scheme ) from University of Delhi ( 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent of CGPA as per University norms wherever it is applicable ).

Age

  • As per Ordinance-I of the University, there is no minimum age bar for admission to the under-graduate and postgraduate courses in the University and its colleges except in the courses where the respective regulatory bodies, such as Medical Council of India ( MCI ), All India Council of Technical Education ( AICTE ), Bar Council of India ( BCI ), National Council of Teacher Education ( NCTE ), Dental Council of India ( DCI ), etc. have prescribed the minimum age requirement in their regulations.

Equivalence criteria

  • The Departments / Colleges of the University may advise the candidates concerned, wherever necessary, to get recognition / equivalence of their degrees / diplomas / certificates authenticated from the Association of Indian Universities / University Grants Commission / AICTE / Council of Boards of School Education in India ( COBSE ) for the purpose of admission to the Department / College.
  • Further, the cases of equivalence of degrees / certificates / diploma may then be put up before the University Authorities for further consideration and confirmation.
  • However, the Certificates / Diplomas / Degrees already recognized / equated by the University may not be referred for further verification.

How to apply

  • All the candidates seeking admission to the LLM course are required to register online on the website  www.du.ac.in.
  • There is a common Web Portal for the centralized registration of applicants and a common registration form for admission to all the PG / Master’s Courses in the University.
  • Online registration details are available on the following PG admission portal www.admission.du.ac.in.
  • Applicant shall be asked to upload the following items
    • Passport size photograph of the applicant ( maximum size: 50KB; Formats : JPG / JPEG / PNG )
    • Scanned signature of the applicant ( maximum size: 50 KB; Formats : JPG / JPEG / PNG )
    • Self-attested copy of Identity Proof of the applicant ( maximum size: 50 KB, Formats : JPG / JPEG / PNG ). Identity proof can be any one of the following documents: Aadhaar Card, Driving License, PAN card, Voter’s identity card, Passport or College identity card.
    • Self-attested copy of Class 10th Certificate ( maximum size: 100 KB, Formats : JPG / JPEG / PNG / PDF ).
    • Self-attested copy of Caste/Reservation Certificate, if applicable ( maximum size : 100 KB, Formats : JPG / JPEG / PNG / PDF ).
  • The following documents are to be submitted at the time of admission :
    • 10th passing certificate & mark sheet
    • 12th class mark sheet
    • Transfer certificate and Migration Certificate
    • Character Certificate
    • Category Certificate
    • 2 passport size self-attested photographs

Application fee

  • Registration fee ( non-refundable ) for the entrance examination is the following
    • SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities ( PwD ) – Rupee 250/-.
    • For all other categories ( Unreserved, OBC etc. ) – Rupee 500/-.
  • Applicant’s application submission process shall be completed only after payment of the online registration fee.
  • Registration shall be payable at the time of online registration through any one of the available online payment options.
  • Candidates are requested to note that the online registration process shall only be completed after realization of the online registration fee.
  • Registration fee will not be refunded / adjusted in any circumstances.

University of Delhi MSc Admission Selection Process 2019

  • In all the Faculties / Departments, except the ones offering inter-disciplinary or professional courses, there are two modes of admission for M.Sc course
    • Merit or Direct : 50% of the total intake shall be filled by direct admission of the students of the University of Delhi only, on the basis of merit. This mode is not available to students from other Universities.
    • Entrance : Remaining 50% of the seats shall be filled through entrance examination and Interview / Group Discussion, if any.

Applicant shall choose any one of these cities for appearing in the entrance examination through the online registration. It may be noted that after completion of the online registration, the chosen city will not be changed. The University reserves the right to change / cancel any Centre of examination without assigning any reason.
