Rehabilitation Council of India ( RCI ), a statutory body under Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, is entrusted with the responsibility of standardizing and monitoring of training programs in the field of Rehabilitation and Special Education.
RCI AIOAT applications are invited for admission to the following Diploma Courses offered by the RCI recognized institutions to train special teachers to teach children with special needs, through an RCI all india online aptitude test :
- Diploma in Education – Special Education ( Mental Retardation )
- Diploma in Education – Special Education ( Deaf & Hard of Hearing )
- Diploma in Education – Special Education ( Visual Impairment )
These courses are offered by RCI recognized institutions to train special teachers to teach children with special needs.
An All India Online Aptitude Test for RCI admission to the above mentioned three Diploma Courses for the academic session ( 2013 – 14 ) is being conducted under the aegis of RCI as per following schedule :
A landmark judgement by the Hon’ble Delhi High Court has resulted in increased demand for trained special teachers to be appointed two in each school of NCT of Delhi.
Hon’ble High Court has also directed to grant equivalence to B.Ed. ( SE ) with B.Ed. ( General ) and D.Ed. ( SE ) with D.Ed. / TTC for the purpose of appointment of special teachers in all the schools in the state as well as schools run by local bodies of Delhi.
Similar demand is expected to be created in other States and UTs with National Council for Teacher Education ( NCTE ) granting approval to B.Ed. ( SE ) and D.Ed. ( SE ) qualifications for appointment of elementary teachers in general schools.
Instructions for RCI Delhi Online Aptitude Test 2013
1. RCI AIOAT Eligibility Criteria 2013 :
- Passed in 10 + 2 or equivalent examination recognized by Central / State Board of Education.
- Appeared / Appearing in 10 + 2 or equivalent examination recognized by Central / State Board of Education.
2. The All India Online Aptitude Test will be conducted at selected examination centres all over the country, details of which are given in the prospectus. The facility of paper pencil aptitude test will also be available at centres where online test can not be conducted.
3. Detailed information is available in the prospectus for RCI online aptitude test ( 2013 – 14 ) and also at the websites : www.rehabcouncil.nic.in and www.satvatonlineexams.com.
4. Request for prospectus and RCI Delhi application forms accompanied by a bank draft for 
500/- ( Rupee Five Hundred Only ) for General / OBC and 300/- ( Rupee Three Hundred Only ) for SC / ST / PH drawn in favour of “Member Secretary, RCI” payable at New Delhi must reach latest by Last week of February, 2013. RCI exam application form by registered / speed post to the following address :

5. RCI online aptitude test application form can also be downloaded from the websites : www.rehabcouncil.nic.in and / or www.satvatonlineexams.com. Duly completed RCI Delhi application form with requisite fee of 500/- ( General / OBC ) / 300/- ( SC / ST / PH ) should be sent only to the following address :

6. RCI aptitude exam online application form can also be submitted through website : www.satvatonlineexams.com.
7. Reserves all the rights regarding admission to various courses.
8. Only one RCI entrance exam application form is required for admission to any of the courses listed above.
9. RCI exam hall tickets ( Admit Card ) can be down loaded from the websites : www.rehabcouncil.nic.in and / or www.satvatonlineexams.com.
10. Students can download score card / result will be available on website : www.satvatonlineexams.com.
11. Cut off marks for admission will be declared on the website : www.rehabcouncil.nic.in on 2nd week of May, 2013.
12. The passed candidates will seek admission on their own at any RCI recognized institutions. The admission will be made by the institutions following state government rules.
Note : The RCI Delhi prospectus and application form shall be available for sale and also available on both the websites from Last week of December, 2012 onwards.

Note : Candidates may avail the facility of mock / sample online test 30 minutes before the commencement of RCI aptitude exam.
The demand for trained special teachers has increased considerably by a landmark judgment by the Hon’ble Delhi High Court for appointment of special teachers in each school of NCT of Delhi and National Council for Teacher Education ( NCTE ) granting approval to B.Ed. Special Education and D.Ed. Special Education qualifications for appointment of elementary teachers in general schools. Some of the States like NCT of Delhi, Rajasthan, etc. have already started the process of recruitment of special teachers.
