Amrita’s A – View on Aakash Tablet

President Pranab Mukherjee will launch the latest version of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s e – learning platform A – View ( Amrita Virtual Interactive e – Learning World ) on the Aakash tablet in New Delhi on November 11.

According to a release, as many as 14,000 teachers from 240 remote centres across the nation will attend the launch as part of the workshop on ‘Aakash’ by Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. The event will be telecast live to all remote centres through A – View. The President is expected to address teachers and students through the ‘Aakash’ tablet operated using A – View software.

Collaborative project

A – View is a collaborative project under “Talk to the Teacher” implemented by Amrita and IIT – Bombay with support by National Mission on Education through ICT, and Ministry of Human Resource Development.

According to Kamal Bijlani, Director, Amrita e – Learning Research Laboratory, the 3.0 version of A – View comes packed with various unique knowledge – sharing modules, high performance, better reliability, and features to handle large classes with ease. The idea of developing A – View is to bridge the gap between needy students and qualified, experienced teachers in the Indian higher education sector, he adds.
