NASSCOM Conclave to Focus on Education and Health Care

Aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups, focusing on software products development, are expected to turn up in large numbers for the NASSCOM Product Conclave in Bangalore scheduled for November 8th and 9th.

The event — touted as the country’s biggest networking platform for entrepreneurs — will have a special focus on development of products in the high impact areas of education and health care.

In their welcome note to delegates, co – hosts M.R. Rangasami and Sharad Sharma said: “We will dive into health care and education at the conclave. As product entrepreneurs, we have the power to re – imagine solutions to intractable problems. By impacting education and health care, we can materially improve hundreds of millions of lives. In time, it will be the software product industry that will lift India out of poverty.”

The conference features some of the leading product entrepreneurs: Naveen Tewari ( InMobi ), Deep Nishar ( Linkedin ), Naren Gupta ( Nexus ) and Chamath Palihappitiya ( Social Capital partnership ). There are also speakers of international repute: Deep Kalra, founder and CEO of travel portal Makemytrip, and Rob Nail, CEO and Associate Founder of Singularity University, a Silicon Valley – based non-profit institution.

In their note to the delegates, conclave curators Bala Parthasarathy and Mukund Mohan said that in the past three years, the country had seen a 789 per cent growth in product start – ups and a 2,173 per cent increase in funded product ventures. “The biggest challenges facing product entrepreneurs are attracting users, retaining profitable accounts, raising venture capital and engaging customers to achieve rapid non-linear revenue growth.”

The sessions have been designed by the curators to cater for a range of start-ups — from those looking for their first customer to those who have some traction but want to know how to scale. The conclave has been put together entirely by a team of volunteers.
