Viswanathan Anand Launches Chess Academy in Noida

NIIT Limited, today announced the launch of NIIT Mind Champions’ Academy at Global Indian International School, Noida. The program was unveiled by World Chess Champion and NIIT MindChampion Viswanathan Anand. A joint initiative by NIIT and Grand Master Viswanathan Anand, MindChampions’ Academy ( MCA ) aims to popularise chess in schools across India. Since its inception in 2002, MCA has touched over 1.65 million children in more than 17,000 schools across India.

Viswanathan Anand said, “Over the years, NIIT Mind Champions’ Academy has been popularising chess in schools across India, to enable development of young minds and encourage them to take up the sport. It has been established that the game of chess makes significant contribution to the field of education. We are pleased to partner with Global Indian International School, Noida, to bring to its students, the advantages of technology training combined with the benefits of chess that NIIT Mind Champions’ Academy delivers.”

Studies have established that there is a strong correlation between the game of chess and academic excellence. It has been proved conclusively that introducing chess to the classroom environment through MCA Clubs have positively influenced the students by enabling them to experience holistic learning during the school hours.

NIIT Mind Champions’ Academy encourages students to take up the game of chess, enabling development of young minds.
