Track Child : The Union Women and Child Development Ministry launched the portal to serve as a central database of all those children who have gone missing in different parts of the country.

The Union Women and Child Development Ministry on 18th September 2012 decided to launch a web portal named Track Child, which will serve as a central database of all those children who have gone missing in different parts of the country.

The portal will act as a coordination mechanism between child homes, police departments and state governments.

As soon as a child is enlisted in a home, or whenever a missing FIR is registered in a police station, the details will be put on the portal.

The ministry will coordinate with police heads, social welfare departments of various states and other agencies to create this mechanism.

The ministry is also considering a proposal to create a National Institute of Women Affairs, which will serve as a think tank for women – related matters.
