Justice Vishnu Sadashiv Kokje was the governor of the State of Himachal Pradesh, India.
Vishnu Sadashiv Kokje on 8th May 2003 sworn as the governor of the state Himachal Pradesh of India. He was born on 6 th September, 1939 in the Dhar district of M.P. at the village known as Dahi Tehsil Kukshi.
Though his education was initiated in the rural level through the later years he became instrumental in having different educational qualifications from a number of institutions.
He had his Secondary Education from Dhar, Graduation from the Holkar College at Indore, LLB from Govt. Arts and Commerce College in the same city of Indore, M.A. in Sociology from the Christian College, Indore.
Having so many qualifications at the fingertip he commenced his career in the year 1964 in the same city of Indore.
On several occasions he has to his credit appeared before several Enquiry Commissions and also Election Petitions.
Other than this he has held several positions that include, the Hon`ble Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court on 28-07-1990.
It was from the year 1992 to 1994 that he served as the President of M.P. State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in addition to the duties of the High Court.
Again from the year 1998 to 2001 he served as the Administrative Judge, Rajasthan High Court. He was also conferred upon the designation of Chief Justice (Acting) of the Rajasthan High Court for 11 months.
In addition, it was on September 2002, when he was designated as the Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of India.
He assumed the office of the Governor of Himachal Pradesh on 8th May, 2003. Other than his busy schedule he has a lot of interest in various disciplines of sports and the prime of them being badminton and cricket.
He has also a lot of interest in reading, traveling and long motor drives. Besides he also loves net surfing and is also a computer savvy administrator of the modern period.
