Jyotiraditya Scindia is one of the members of the 15th Lok Sabha representing the Guna constituency. He is serving as the Minister of State, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia is a member of the Indian National Congress and the member of the 15th Lok Sabha. He is the descendant of the Scindia family and the Maharajah of the formerly princely state of Gwalior.
On 1st January, 1971 in Mumbai Jyotiraditya was born to Madhavrao Scindia, an Indian politician and Madhavi Raje Scindia.
Early Life of Jyotiraditya Scindia
Jyotiraditya Scindia studied in the Doon School and then went to the Harvard University. He had done his MBA from Stanford University. After completing his education he worked as an investment banker for multinationals like Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley.
Jyotiraditya Scindia also had the opportunity to work with the UN Economic Development Cell as an intern. Along with a brilliant academic career he also has a course in car racing from USA.
Jyotiraditya Scindia is married to Priyadarshini Raje Gaekwad Scindia of Baroda. They have two children the elder one is Mahanaryaman Scindia who was born in 1995 and Ananya Raje Scindia who was born in 2002.
Political Career of Jyotiraditya Scindia
Jyotiraditya Scindia`s entry into active politics was not a matter of choice but by chance. He began his political career in 2002 when he was elected as the representative of the Constituency of Guna after his father, Madhavrao Scindia, died in an air crash.
Jyotiraditya Scindia won the Indian General Elections of May 2004 from the same constituency becoming one of the youngest members of the 14th Lok Sabha. After the 15th Lok Sabha elections he became one of the Cabinet Ministers.
Jyotiraditya Scindia holds the office of the Minister of State, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
At present he is also serving as the President of the Board of Governors of Scindia School in Gwalior.
