Prem Kumar Dhumal is the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and represents the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Prem Kumar Dhumal, an eminent Indian Politician, was born on 10th of April in the year 1944 in the Hamirpur district in Himachal Pradesh. Prem Kumar Dhumal represents the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Prem Kumar Dhumal is the current chief minister of Himachal Pradesh and was sworn in on 30th December 2007. Prem Kumar Dhumal was also a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from the Hamirpur Parliamentary constituency.

Prem Kumar Dhumal graduated from Doaba College under Punjab University and completed his master degree from Jalandhar and G.N.D. University in Amritsar. Prem Kumar Dhumal is married to Smt. Sheela Devi and has two sons Arun and Anurag. Prem Kumar Dhumal was a teacher and industrialist by profession.

Prem Kumar Dhumal was earlier the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh from March 1998 to March 2003 and was elected to the Lok Sabha previously in the year 1989 and 1991.

Before winning the seat of Lok sabha in 2007, Prem Kumar Dhumal was the leader of the opposition in the state legislative assembly. In the election of 2007, Bharatiya Janata Party won the elections to the Vidhan Sabha and Prem Kumar Dhumal being the chief ministerial candidate was chosen as the chief minister.
